I wouldn't think so, but that is only my opinion. However, if you want the blog post to get indexed and show up as a backlink, I would think that it would need to be a unique article to aviod being flagged as duplicate content. However, I'm not saying the blog post won't count as a backlink if it is duplicate content, just that if G sees it as duplicate content, even though G has counted your backlink, it may not show up when you do a backlink check.
Having rambled on like that, I have one more thing to add. I always set up my articles to be spun because I plan on submitting them to hundreds of other sites and possibly reusing them on similar sites I create in the future. If you are going to build more sites, think long term. I have articles I created and spun from 2 years ago that I am reusing today because I took the time to spin them.
