unfollowing on twitter

I've heard that recently twitter has tightened up and is more trigger happy to ban accounts with suspicious activity.

I was wanting to unfollow a bunch of people that I don't pay attention to in my twitter account. Can I use a mass unfollow them with a tool or could that get me banned?

i personally don't go over 100 unfollowing at a time, I've had no problem with my accounts, i used to do about 600-800 unfollows, I quickly stopped when I heard of the bans going out.
