Unexperienced Help

Hello everyone, im new to this place and practically to the whole blackhat scene. ( of course im here to learn )
I started a site 2 weeks ago, and im using affiliates and some adsense. Im still going through the whole newbie experience and naturally i have some doubts/questions.
My site got indexed pretty fast with google and yahoo, the second day i had 50 search engine visitors, then the number of visitors lowered.
I didnt do any keyword research but i noticed 3 of my keywords were in the top ten google results the first days after my site got indexed, so how is that possible?. ( Results 1-10 of about 550,000 for xxxx xxxx ) i get the same stats for a few more keywords.
Im confused because im not getting the traffic im supposed to get for having my site on the top ten.
I know i may sound really newbie and even dumb. Hope someone could help me out, thank you in advance and really sorry for my bad english.

Heh sounds like you're doing great

W/o saying what the keywords are its very hard to know if those are valuable keywords and if they have a lot of traffic.

You should get an idea from inventory.overture.com.

I think they'll have to try wordtracker or summink like that
