Understanding keywords

I have been using Yoast and it keeps asking me to add keyowrds to the title , first word in the first paragraph and keep density of keywords...etc.

Recently, I decided to make an experiment and see if ranking articles have these stuff or not, and guess what ? I found many articles that don't have the keyowrd inside the article at all, not even one time and not even one of the long tail words. The keyword was mentioned only in the title of the article .
I started believing that thees SEO plugins are crap and tell us rules that never exist. Google doesn't care about this at all. It cares about how long and informative the article is and how much authority the website has. After that, if the keyword is mentioned one time anywhere in the article, either the title or the body, it ranks it.

Stop believe in this shit. Google can't know how informative is your article or how good is your content. It's just a machine mate..content is not a king!

I don't know english. One day I have a lot of free time and wrote an article. For 2 weeks my article takes first page. Very bad article

In the last update we saw a lot of spammy sites, with very bad content ranked on the first page.

Although I generally agree with your sentiment, I wouldn't outright call those SEO plugins crap: Google has been implementing various algorithms to help Googlebot "understand" the meaning behind texts (e.g. that a text about apples may rank for the "fruits" keyword.) However, these algorithms aren't stable yet, so we still have to rely on keywords -- and plugins like Yoast are useful because many articles are still ranking thanks to rich keyword presence.

Not necessarily...
Don't follow all the instructions from yoast. I'm only trying to be natural

Have not used any of such plugins in quite a while, but as I recall they try to optimize a page for a keyword and does it in an obvious way thus pushing for overoptimization.

If it's a decent site with good backlinks, covering much of the same topic on a general basis, I don't see a problem it ranking new keywords with just putting the keyword in the article title, throwing some internal links at the page and nothing else.

There are more than 200+ known ranking factors discovered so far. These tools cover some of them, so that may be the reason.
