undercut DHgate?

hey there, I currently have 4 products I sell on ebay. At the moment I am dropshipping them, however I have ordered 10 of each item to my house so I can ship them myself.

Buying an item individually for dropshipping costs me about 40$. Ordering the items to my house, ten at a time I get them for roughly 20$.

I also notice that there is at least 10 sellers selling the same product for similar prices. Are the sellers on dhgate just middlemen for the factories? If I wanted to buy 50-200 of a product, do you think I would be able to get a cheaper price from elsewhere? If I could get these items for 15$ each I would be golden.

You can try contact with the supplier you are dealing now and get better wholesale price since you are taking 200 product at one time.

Try paying for items in bulk and then just submitting shipping addresses when you actually sell the items. Of course you will have to have an understanding with your supplier and be confident that they are trustworthy to do this. I'm suggesting this because having 10-20 pieces shipped to your house is one thing, but 50-200 of anything consistently clearing customs would be a feat.

Go directly to the dealer and negotiate and bargain. It really depends on what you're selling, you might want to look at imports from china.

I'd be cautious. Increase the quantity of each order by 10 until you're confident in your supplier. Don't go from 10 to 200. Some of these guys try and set you up for the "big" buy and then don't deliver.

You should be constantly negotiating for better pricing and always asking questions of ANY supplier. If anything ever sounds "off", find someone else. Once you find a great source your golden.

Well that is where you need to go for large orders.

Always try to use their escrow service, it dont cost you anything!

Dont try to make a deal with a seller directly, you would be risking tooo much!

I agree with fazee. Never deal with these sellers directly unless you have been using them for a long time. If you deal with them directly it is like giving money to someone you don't know. If you really want to go big you should invest in making the trip to china and find yourself an agent their that knows the factories and speaks chinese. Then open a business here and you have to pay custom and other taxes.

i'm not being funny, but who here actually uses DHGate, everything on there seems to be a scam..and the escrow is not actually a proper protection as they often do not give the full amount back and require you also to ship the items back which is expensive and may get "lost"
