I'm on my early 20s and been lucky to enjoy remote work during my entire job life at this point I'm able to pay for all of the house expenses however can't support her totally financially.

She just got in a 7-4 strict job and things have been really stressful I was used to taking a road trip on a tuesday for an entire week just to work somewhere else now we have to wait for weekend.

I'm actively working on fixing this and doubling my monthly income however atm thing don't feel right I'm not used to waiting until saturday and sunday as I usually rest those days, any tips?

It's not bad doing trips on weekends sometimes. You won't know unless you try it a few times

Try coming onto a mid ground. Relationships are always about give and takes. Sacrifices on both sides.

You don't have to feel bad. It's all part of growth.

Additionally i wouldn't recommend asking for relationship advice online as no one will know the equations and other factors of your love life.

You shouldn't feel like you need to provide everything for a woman, you should feel happy because you are a young man and you are already earning enough to have a good lifestyle and pay for your own expenses.

Things are already very hard in 2025, most young men are living with their parents and working for someone else, you are doing great.

But if you put this pressure in your shoulders, soon you will need to provide everything for a woman, for your kids, etc. And instead of enjoying your life and be happy because you are a successful remote worker, you will feel stressed all the time because of this need of maintain people and provide them with everything, I hope she can help you to split this pressure and find a better job, I don't know where are you from, but this idea is from the past, nowadays women need to help their man, assume some responsibilities and not just wait a man to do everything for them. Just my opinion, I wouldn't like to have this feeling that I'm obliged to work for me and for somebody else

You’re not totally wrong about everything here. In fact, in some situations, you make a really strong point, especially when the guy is drowning under the weight of all the financial responsibility for his girlfriend.

If he’s financially strong enough to handle that, great... that’s part of love.

But in this case, if you read the post right, his girlfriend is actually working.
Yeah, I don’t know their full situation, but you can’t expect too much from people. Changing jobs isn’t as easy as it sounds. She’s working, so she’s contributing in her own way.

Honestly, having a remote job like OP said feels like luck to me too. Just thinking about it, I don’t know if I’d survive working a 9-5 for a week. I’m grateful I can work remotely from anywhere, but not everyone gets that chance... it just is what it is.

Just adding to what @indianmojojojo already said... Sacrifices have to come from both sides. Try finding some middle ground.

I have never lived under a schedule to do things on my life and that's the problem if I feel not working 3 days and then working hard for 4 days which might include saturday and sunday then I would do it, which is the biggest problem

I support my parents actually with a fixed amount per month and I think it's something great, would be spending the money on restaurants or trash.

One of the few things I enjoy is traveling just because someone is there cooking/cleaning/etc but aside from that don't see reasons for not supporting my future wife.

I like financial stress without it I would be the exact same person as a few years ago, partying having a good salary but not enough, not making impact, etc.

Girls are more interested in guys doing 'the grind' and having 'a plan' than guys just having the money.

So just share her your vision, your plans and ambitions, unless she is incredibly shallow, you will be good.

And ffs, you are in your early 20s, probably doing way better than most of your friends. I was fortunate enough to let my wife stop working a few years ago and I'm in my mid-30s.

You have all the time in hands you need, do not overthink it right now, get your goals in order and start chasing them.

Yeah, that shift is tough. Your freedom just got clipped, and it sucks. But you’re already working on leveling up, which is key.

Everyone I ask says the same. There's something wrong.
Don't know anything about relationships but this is totally true. I thought I am the only one who is experiencing through this.

@hexagonal Don't worry about it, it looks like there's some down in economy right now... My sales dropped too. Everyone I ask says the same. There's something wrong.

Absolutely, companies are delaying raises everywhere.

It's just that at this point a 20% monthly increase on MRR is sick

I think culture and relationship are interconnected. In our culture, men should provide for the family. So, better ask your regional people these advice, not online, just my 2 cents.
