Hello friends,
I am fairly new to local seo and would appreciate your feedback regarding this dilemma I am facing:
So I have a website that is ranked #1 across the board for all its keywords. As it is a real estate related site, I have the name, phone number, address of my brokerage listed in the footer of all my pages. My brokerage's address is different than the property I am ranking for.
My competitor was ranking in position #5 all this time. Like me, he has his name, phone number and an unrelated address of his brokerage listed in the footer of his pages.
Recently, an unclaimed Google+ local page started appearing for all our keywords containing his website address and phone number.
Can someone explain to me why his website address and phone number are listed in the unclaimed local listing and not mine? I mean, what goes into that determination and how can I ensure this doesn't happen anymore? Is there any way that the unclaimed listing will be updated if I get enough citations? I cannot verify the listing.
Some context: all of his citations are for his brokerage...so it's unrelated. I clearly have better organic rankings than him which I figured would bode well for me.
Thanks for your help!
