    Alright, there is something really really wrong going on with either Google bots or Google analytics lol.

    My website is a fairly new tech blog with like 3 posts.

    Today when taking a look at Analytics stats, I found stats that don't even seem to belong to my site, but I confirmed it does:p

    okay here goes. So a couple of months, search engine traffic graph is FLAT ZERO. On the 25th:

    1) it's reported that I got a spike of over 200 uniques for keywords that I never ever had a post optimizing them on-site and absolutely not even one backlink optimizing them offsite. Those keywords were watch eclipse online for free, watch eclipse online and loads of similar ones. When I search Google for those keywords, I never find my site.

    2) Top "performing" page on my wordpress blog is an "imaginary" page that goes by the url /watch-eclipse-online-for-free. Needless to say this never existed. lol.

    3) Top referrer site is watch-*******-*****-****online.net. Site has URL been obfuscated in case it's owned by a fellow member here. lol. Needless to say again, of course, that this site never seemed to link to mine.

    Super-weird, and I can't explain even one point from the above ones.

    Any thoughts? :)

    Actually can't really make use of it since this was a one day spike. At this point, I'm not even sure whether these statistics were even close to accurate because it doesn't make any damn sense :D

    Was hoping anyone would know what caused this, or is it a Google mess up or what...

    Thanks.

    It propably was just a wrong link from that site. How do you know, that it did not link to you?

    Basically because there was no reason for it to. My website is barely indexed on Google, this website of mine is barely indexed in Google, my friend. :)

    If the referring site is not actually linking to you, then it's probably referrer spam.

    okay for ref spam. That's one down, two to go. Where did all those incoming keywords according to analytics come from then? And where did those 200 uniques come from as well? :D

    I had a simular issue a few weeks ago when a page on one of my blogs became popular for a totally unrelated keyword. The post is here;

    http://www.blackhatworld.com/blackh...-hosted-wordpress-keyword-spamming-trick.html

    It seems that it is related to SEO Booster PRO and some form of backdoor whereby a keyowrd is inserted into the title tag and to bulster this I also had a few hundred comment spam appear for related keywords.

    I never really got to the bottom of it and removed the offending page and SEO Booster Pro which I also had installed....
