Whenever I try to change the email of my instagram page, it says it was successfully changed, but it doesn’t really change. When I try adding a phone number it says successfully added, but it just doesn’t get added. How do I fix it? It’s been going on for like a week, and I’ve already contacted support, they did nothing about it.

Here’s a quick, practical fix list—do them in order:
  1. Change it from Accounts Center (not old IG settings):
Instagram → Settings → Accounts CenterPersonal detailsContact info. Add the email/phone, confirm via the link/code, then set it as Primary. Remove the old one after.
  2. Check duplicates:
Make sure that email/number isn’t already on another Meta/IG account. If it is, unlink it there first.
  3. Try a different route/device:
Update the app → log out of all devices → switch Wi-Fi/mobile data → disable VPN/ad-blockers → try the change again (or do it on a desktop browser at instagram.com).
  4. Clear app cache (Android):
System Settings → Apps → Instagram → Storage → Clear cache (not data). Then retry.
  5. Security check:
Change your password, review Login Activity, and enable 2FA. If Instagram flagged the account, changes may silently fail until you secure it.
  6. If still stuck (bug/lock):
Wait 24–48 hours and try again. Meanwhile, submit Report a problem → Include and Continue with a screen recording.
Business accounts: contact Meta Business Help Center chat for faster escalation.
That sequence fixes this for most people.

Sounds like a temporary restriction. Instagram sometimes silently limits profile changes if the account trips their security filters. Usually, you just have to wait it out while keeping activity normal and consistent.

If you’re on a proxy, make sure it matches the location where the account was first created. Sticking to the same IP/device for a few days can help rebuild trust.

You have to give it 10-14 days before you can add a new phone number or new email. This happens when you login from a new IP. Instagram wont let you change things like that right away. This is to keep the account safe.
