Ok, I bought a service that created Angela type BL's from this forum and was very good - about 1 month ago. Now it wasnt a huge package so i didnt see any great rise in SERPS for my site but - I just checked and I can see the profile links - the poster did a gr8 job - but when i go to Google and do a query in quotes for "<myprofile>" non of them come up - I am therefore assuming they are not indexed and therefore dont count as B/L in Googles eyes. So...
Q1. is this true - are they basically worthless until they get indexed and of course
Q2. How do i get them indexed quickly - I've just pinged then with SE Nuke - do I need to do more

    thanks as always guys

#1 G is known for not showing all your backlinks - look in Yahoo site explorer for a better idea of how many are indexed. Don't trust G to show you backlinks, just watch your SERP positions to see if your backlinking is working.

#2 you can bookmark your profile pages and possibly get a few more indexed

Yep, what movie man said. Even when you ping them they may not show up but only a portion of backlinks are shown. I did a report for a client last week and 45/50 profiles were showing in yahoo SE - BUT, not all profiles were showing for all links. I had 4 links on one profile but it was only showing on 1 of the Backlink reports even though it'd obviously been found because it was showing on the report for one of the links. If they used the same user name for all of the profiles, do a search for that user name and see how many are showing in the SERPs.

Indexed or not (though try to get them indexed), being crawled and noticed will still help you. SEO Spyglass, even the free version, will give you a much more comprehensive picture of your backlinks than YSE or Google.
