Ultimate Demon ??

I own a small sales company (not internet related).

I have hired campaigns (projects) from members on this forum, the Warr**** F**** and Wick** F***. I have used (limited) scrapebox/scrapejet and have a few more inexpensive programs.

My experience with SEO and related services is nil - real NOOB.

I would like to know if Ultimate Demon would be a good piece of software to continue the ranking of my single web site? Will it be usefull to me with my limited experience?

Presently I have 37 keywords:

19 are in the top 10 words on G
4 are in the top 20
6 are in the top 100
8 are not in the top 100

I used to use WebPosition and ran the submitter every day. We all know that it died....:-(

Ultimate Demon may be an option, but it's no good buying a tool which you think 'may' be the magic silver bullet to your business getting more sales, leads or prospects. You should have an SEO strategy in place well before even considering any tools. A lot of people buy tools and they sit unused on their hard drives.

So, you can either learn SEO or hire people to do the work. I would not recommend anyone selling services. Think about it, if they were so great at SEO, why aren't they busy building their own business instead of other people's? Many of the sellers barely know anything about SEO, but just sell the next 'hot' item; a while back it was forum profiles (before they got burned, i.e. devalued) and more recently blog network posts (whose carnage is now unfolding).

The only exception to the above is that the SEO person/company has been recommended by someone you know and trust.

If you want to learn then seobook is Ok, the free option is to sift through the BHW downloads section and you may find a few gems.

Ultimate demon is quite cheap when compared to Senuke. They are also regularly updating it. They now have a wiki module as well. However I would rate magic submitter as a better software when compared to ultimate demon. If you have made up your mind to buy UD, then do it after may, as a major upgrade is going to happen in May.

I thought if you bought UD, the updates are included? Right or wrong?

I just thought that since everyone was so happy with SEnue X, that UD would the natural choice was a noob starting out to get their own site better rankings.

LOL, are you serious? Doing SEO IS the business. That's like saying to a fast food employee "Why are you selling these people burgers when you can just build your own fast food restaurant?". People like myself KNOW SEO and sell the service.

I may not be able to build and sell "laptop cooling fans" but I'm pretty sure I can get my client ranked on the first page for that keyword. Get it? Some people do way better selling intangible services than tangible ones.

Definitely get Senukex if you want to do it yourself or outsource if you don't

You get two years for the initial purchase and then you have to pay another amount to get another 2 years for the major updates

I think the basic point is fair. There are a lot of BS'rs selling their services based on their ability to overinflate the description of their skills and take advantage of their customer's ignorance. The OP is obviously aware of this.

Also, there's a "grey-area". There's such a thing as "enough" skill at SEO to be "adequate" for a particular customer's needs. I could probably service about 90% of the local businesses in my area for their SEO needs, and I'm not all that experienced. I know "enough" and, relative to both their skills and the abilities of my competition, frankly I think I'd be the best option available. But in no way would I describe myself is being even "fully qualified". I'm "good enough", and that is good enough for some business, and maybe not for others.

They guy I replaced was NOT "good enough". He was completely ignorant, and also dishonest. And charged my customer at least 4X more than what would have been fair, had he actually known how to do the work. Sometimes that "intangible service" that's being sold is called "BS".

Besides that, danny's comments regarding the outlay of a tool that then sits unused were spot-on, and that was his main point anyways. The rest was add-on opinion and personal advice that was still valid. I read a lot of these posts where people have spent good money on software that turns out to be useless. Sometimes they are able to sell it to someone else, and sometimes they've wasted their money.

Personally, I think a better thread might be "Here's my situation. I have A, B and C, and want to accomplish X, Y and Z in a certain time-frame. What should I do, and how?"

If you want to go fast, that's going to cost more. If you are willing to go slow enough, you might be able to do it yourself.

His personal advice was still valid? He basically said that every SEO company and every SEO service is BS. Sure there are service providers who act like they know more than they do, and sell services less valuable than their sales page pretends, but that's not what he said. Once you get your business moving, you outsource. Who do you think you outsource to? That's right, a service provider.

We wouldn't have an SEO Services section on every major Internet Marketing forum if the people offering them weren't providing value. Most of my clients are returning customers. Most of my clients are affiliate marketers with a strong SEO background. Most of them come from Internet Marketing forums.

EDIT: Sorry for forgetting to address the OP. I bought UD when it first came out and requested a refund within a few hours. At that time, it was brand new and needed work. Since then it has been updated and is probably on its way to becoming a contender among the public SEO tools. I use Bookmarking Demon and I actually really like it. I'm yet to replace it, I should say. However, UD will always be a public tool. Everyone knows that the real valuable tools are private and self developed. It's pretty expensive to pay a coder to make a tool though. However, if you understand SEO and link building real well, then I'd go for Zennoposter. You can buy templates off other people, trade templates, etc. It can do everything UD can do, but it does it a hell of a lot better. There is no graphical interface for your templates though, just pure text files. That's why I say you need to truly know SEO. Since you said you don't know SEO, you should probably outsource to a service provider. Oh yeah, and don't forget, all service providers are BS

I do hire out from this forum and others and find that the services serve me well but I do like to play with different software to try and get the ranking up for my one site. But, as mentioned, I am quite the NOOB and am only willing to spend a certain amount of money up front to try different approaches and/or software.

I am looking at UD and also now researching GSA and SLR. Both look like they might do the trick and are within the budget.

Far better then any other SEO Tool, you would need.
