Basicly i have been employed by a company up until last month.. so all of 09/10 financial year i was with this company who sorted tax etc etc etc.

However, in that time i also signed up as self employed as i was doing small bits and bobs online...

Now my question is, i know it's not correct to do so BUT can i get away with not declaring 09/10 self employed earnings, it's not massive but it's not small but i wondered because my main job was employed would i be able to bypass it for that year? It's only last years im looking to do it as ive gone full time self employed now last month.

Kind Regards

You will still have to fill in your self assesment as you have declared as self employed. What you put on there is up to you, but remember that it is fraud to lie on there.

Thanks, oh i know it's fraud.. I just didn't know if i could get away for the first year not sending it in as i was employed, just was curious mate.

remember if they know you were self employed (which they will if you registered) and you dont declare your income by a specific timescale, they simply guestimate your income and bill you accordingly, you cant dispute it you just have to pay (happened to me):( In addition they will fine you for being late filing your return, they really have you by the short and curlies.

yeah guessed that. will they also then have an excuse to look into your accounts
