I have a client who doesn't want to change her store name, but should. We're going over other options, and the only one she's really considering is "The Spunky Slut."
In the US, that would mean the "feisty" slut -- which, I suppose, could work. It's kind of trendy to reclaim deragatory phrases for women. The store gets a chunk of business from the UK though, and I had some concerns of how it would be interpreted.
Would it mean "fiesty" ... or something much worse?
Women - Would you shop there or recommend it to friends?
Men - Would you feel strange if you saw your wife/girlfriend/mom recommending it?
Would you feel comfortable liking this page on Facebook?
I'm hoping to pass comments along to the store owner, so please be gentle.
