    Hello all,

I'm looking to switch hosts to a UK based provider for a variety of reasons, but mainly to speed up load times and get a UK IP address, which may/may not help my rankings.

However, it seems they are relatively rare and quite a bit more expensive than US hosts.. not sure why.

I'm having difficulty trying to filter out the review sites plastered with affiliate links and paid reviews so I have come to you!

Linux + cpanel preferred, and they need to actually have datacenters in the UK, I've heard bad things about 1-2-3reg, 1&1 and of course godaddy. Rackspace seems like it will be a bit overkill

    Help!?

Looking at reviews they don't seem too bad actually, I guess as they're pretty big theres a lot of negativity bias.

They state they can't help with site transfers though which is a bit annoying. Are you running wordpress with them?

Two places I use in the UK:

    ilovehosting.co.uk (reseller account there)
hwshosting.net (for all my VPS needs)

    Can't fault either of them

I've used TSO for a site for about 3 years with no problems. You don't get as many add-on domains etc with them but the site has been solid and I don't think I've ever had to talk to support.

I've also used evohosting.co.uk and pcsmarthosting.com for a couple of years and recently signed up with latehosting but not had chance to get a proper view of them.

    All are UK-based datacenters.
