are there any wordpress guys here that could lend a quick hand?

a few people on here that said they would help never followed through.

basically i am using scarlett theme where the nav bars are based on categories and such. what happens from here is that it strictly only shows categories being used, id rather it just show links TO THE CATEGORY PAGE.

not sure if when i edit stuff it will edit the bar. so if anyone here can help id much appreciate it!:rain:

I may be able to help with this. I'm downloading the Scarlett theme right now and will have a look.

Can you clarify what it is that you want the nav bar to do? You say "show links TO THE CATEGORY PAGE" do you mean the link to the article in that category? Because on the default install it seems to link to the Category page automatically.

so there is a top nav bar that pulls your PAGES automatically to that bar.

THe middle bar shows links of CATEGORIES.

    i.e. www.site.com/category/nutrion

problem is i dont want it to show the categories or just a ton of posts together

id rather have that 2nd bar have a link of www.site.com/nutrition.html

then on nutrion.html id hae a few pictures with links to:
    category/nutrition/weight-loss
    category/nutrition/weight-gain
    category/nutrition/recipes

etc just helps the site look a little better

also the other issue i have with it is that the front page of the site shows the FULL blog posts. it makes the front page incredibly long. is there a way of cutting them off and shortening them up?

Setting the front page to only show excerpts is easy to do, just put the 'more' tag into each post near the beginning. I think the default setting with your theme will work fine with this.

Regarding the category page, I still haven't figured it out completely but I'll PM you with what I got so far.
