U.S. domain with China hosting?

Can I have a United States registered domain name, who's content comes from a server in China (or any non-DMCA country), and not have my domain and/or physical properties seized by the U.S. government?

For example, can I have four thousand movies on a server in a country with no DMCA laws and have that content displayed on a domain registered in a country where DMCA is in effect?

From my knowledge it is legal to upload copyrighted material to the internet in Denmark. If my servers are in Denmark, then would it even matter about the country that the domain is registered in? Or the owner of the website for that matter?

You can still have the domain name seized, as the tld is owned by a u.s. based company

Then technically they could seize all your assets which would include the domain. But at that point in time, you'd just be going to jail and the domain would expire while you're there

You can have domain or server anywhere you like. Just don't forget to make backups and have another domain name in an extreme case. Ping from the US to China is not good.

Look I am being blunt because I don't want to see you harmed. Your idea is stupid and suicidal. Making a good streaming movie site is really the easy way of creating a super high traffic website and you can really rake it in. BUT since you live in the US, stay away from that route. The idea of getting a US registered domain and chinese server is a suicidal joke. Even if you own a non-US banana republic domain and have your servers in China, you WILL go to jail (and will probably get a tougher sentence than raping or murdering someone). All the big guys in this industry are based outside US and Uncle Sam has been unable to catch them. If they catch you they will make an example of you.

Either drop this idea altogether or move to Asia or Russia.

I think I'll make this venture happen. Canary Islands here I come!
