All of the "type" in domain names are pretty much taken, and are going for a hell of a high price. At the time of this post, toyota.me was at $90k with 12 hrs left, insure.me was at 45k with 15 hours left. You can view other auctions at this site.

I would think that a majority of type-in traffic comes from .com's

I can't see any potential for type-in traffic to .me domains.
Do you thing anyone's going to type-in anything.me?
However like any other extension a good name has resale potential, but to get a good name you need to be clever and lucky, or be prepared to pay a good deal of cash.
