hey guys

i've a question for you, i need to maintain two sites (let's name them xxxcom and yyycom), they will be something like an alias. i want visitors to be able to access the pages with same content via both of them. what's the best way of doing this without getting in trouble with search engines? i know about the 301 redirect, but i want visitors to stay on xxxcom or yyycom, same name to show up in address bar, not to be redirected.

Two websites requires two times unique content. You just can't do without. If you have two sites with identical copy, you will just be in competition with yourself. Pick one domain to work with, 301 the other and combine the link juice do your main domain can actually make a difference in de SERPs.

what do you mean by combine the link juice? so what if i have three domains, how should i link/redirect them?

If you have two domains, you have to build links to both of them. If you redirect one site to another you will get all link juice (incoming link power) redirected to one domain, which will make that one rank better.

If you have any more domains, just rinse and repeat: redirect (301!) them too to your main site.

okay, great, thanks for your help. i'll do that.

Wow thanks for that, does it matter that the rank of these sites? say there are 4 - 5 of them brand new?
