.....just wondering if anyone is interested in my self-hosted Twitter status updater?
You give it a text file full of accounts in the format username
assword and then via the (very basic) admin panel you add tweets.
This is all cron driven - every so many minutes (you specify in the cron job), the script will select a random useraccount and a random tweet and then post it.
If you have 100s of accounts, the updates look more natural as the same account won't get hit every other minute
I tested this across 10 accounts and so far they are all still working - I tried it on a single account and that got suspended after 8 weeks
Anyway, of you want a look at the admin front end where you can add and delete tweets feel free to go to
No tweets will be fired out as I have deleted the cron job
If anyone is interested then I will zip it all up and upload to the download section.
You will need PHP, MySQL and the ability to run cron jobs.
This script will then run 24/7 without any intervention - you just add and delete Tweets as and when you want to
I am asking if anyone is interested before I zip everything up and write instructions just because there are lots of Twitter tools out there at the moment and not sure if anyone can be assed with another one!
I will be developing it a bit further to make it an online multiuser script in the future as well - so hopefully that will get a bit of cash in - if you want to donate cash, however, I will not say no
