Heya guys,

I am currently trying to decide on wether i should buy followerliker or twitterdub for a few twitter account management.
They will be started from scratch and i wondered which of the bots you think would be better?

Without wanting to disrupt any external opinions of the program in this thread, if you have any specific questions on TD, do let me know.

At the end of the day, most bots do the same things (main features) then have a few specific features the others may not have which may be relevant to you or not. Other things to consider, updates / new features / support response etc

That was a very objective response rootjazz. That would make me definitely want to check out TwitterDub.

I personally have never used either TwitterDub or FollowLiker. I know those are the programs you are asking about in this thread, but I thought I'd throw my 2 cents in about the programs I DO use, just so you have a broader perspective of what's out there, so you can make a more informed decision.

I have used TweetAdder (which is now banned), TweetDemon, and now Twidium. I am currently in the process of switching all my twitter automation to Twidium, and then I will only use TweetDemon as supplemental to do anything Twidium doesn't do (which isn't much).

TweetDemon is a one time purchase and they are always making updates and they have good support. Twidium is a yearly fee (but worth it to me since my clients pay me monthly to do the work, if I was not getting paid to do Twitter management, I would not want to pay a yearly fee).

So far Twidium seems to only make updates every once in awhile, but they work at getting all updates done at the same time. TweetDemon has had down times, maybe about once every other month, it doesn't work for a day while they are doing maintenance. I think because it runs on their server (although I use proxies. I don't totally understand all the behind the scenes stuff of software/programming, etc).

Twidium has good support as well. So far I am only aware of one person who runs Twidium. There may be other people, but there is a main guy named Leonid who is the only person so far that I've spoken to from Twidium. He is very helpful when I have a question. It is just email support.

TweetDemon has a forum, so you can talk to the other people who use tweetdemon, along with the developers. The developers also have skype so you can contact them that way for help as well.

Every instance of TweetDemon that you have open, you can add tasks, and then all the tasks pretty much have to run the same way. So if you want to do different things with different twitter accounts (like follow different amounts of people each day, etc) then that's annoying because in order to do that you have to open more instances of the program, so you have more windows open and running, basically. The other problem I find with tweetdemon is that if you want to change the settings of any of the accounts, you have to stop running all of them. This has been a problem for tweeting because if one of my clients wants me to add more tweets or stop tweeting certain things, I have to stop all the tweets of all accounts I have running on one instance of tweetdemon. Then once I edit the tweets of one account, I can start back up again, but the problem is that tweetdemon starts back up at the beginning of a text file. It doesn't start tweeting back where it left off in the text document. So if it's already tweeted like 100 tweets, that's pretty much okay if the accounts start back up again at the beginning. But if it's only tweeted like 20 tweets from each account, that's not really enough buffer to start back up again at the same 20 tweets.

I don't know if all that makes sense, but this is the MAIN reason I'm switching to mostly using Twidium.

Twidium works more like TweetAdder, where each account runs separately and you can edit each account individually while all the others can continue running as scheduled. You don't have to have multiple windows of Twidium open, it is all in one window.

Twidium also just came out with their most recent update and it is better than before. It used to be two different programs, one for follow/unfollow, and one for tweeting etc. Now it's all one program.

Also, one thing that both Twidium and TweetAdder do is make it possible to post pictures inlay in the tweets (not as links, like if you were scheduling pics through hootsuite or something). That is a big benefit. But I still feel Twidium does a better job at that than TweetDemon.

I guess that's all for now.

I'm gonna check out followlater and twitterdub. :D

rootjazz provided a very good point... all the good bots do very similar things.
You see... I tweet and fav/retweet manually and actually do some manual actions on my twitter accounts so I just need follow/unfollow from my bot and followliker does that perfectly (I'm sure twitterdub will do it perfectly as well but I never tried it).

So I think it's better if you list the things you want the bot do for you and what options you need so people who use those bots can give you better replies.

I think that's a great idea :)

Rootjazz, Does TwitterDub have the ability to edit one account, while another account is running? Like if I have an instance of TwitterDub open with a list of twitter accounts all set up and tweeting, can I stop just ONE twitter account and edit it, and then restart it, while all the other ones keep going? Or do I have to stop all tasks/project/accounts in order to edit one, or add tweets, etc?

I'm also thinking of getting into Instagram, so the same question applies to InstaDub, which I saw on your website. Can I stop just one account so I can edit it, while all the other accounts continue as scheduled?

They all do basically the same thing... The difference is what looks better 2 u ;)

I purchased twitterdub still waiting on code and download so I can use it...

I got the serial and download to use it. My fault. The email with those instructions went to a junk folder. My fault not rootjazz

Yes. My programs work a bit differently to most other programs (especially followliker - or so I am told). They tend to lean towards more power users who want more options, more technical features but with this does come a bit more of a learning curve - not much in my opinion - but it is brought to my attention sometimes.

Anyway, my programs work with a processor, which is where all your actions go after creation. (search and follow, search and like, post tweets, scrape emails, listen for new followers... these are "actions") The actions are then processed in order (with threading capabilities). If you want to stop one account tweeting action, you just stop that action, all the others carry on (the actions are completely separate and have no bearing on other actions.

Yes - all my programs work the same.

Like if I have an instance ..
I also have the concept of "instances", so you can have 10 copies of the software open on a single machine - where each is working from a separate database, so you can keep your accounts completely separate. So if you have some accounts for NSFW niche, then also some accounts for a client, you definitely would not want to mix those up, so you can run separate instances and avoid any accident issues of using the wrong accounts

Hi

I tried many bots, and frankly found twitterdub the best, especially the support, visit the forum and also look at the download/testing page and you will see how often fixes are done.

btw, I have no relation to the author and I'm not a dealer/dist for twitterdub :)

good luck.

I've never used Twitterdub and Followliker
BUT:
1. I used Twidium. What I can say - it works like a drunk turtle.
I tried to run 100 accounts and waited like 11 hours to finish the work.
It's very slow working tool.

2. I used TumblingJazz - from creator of TwitterDub. (And it's running for me right now)
It works like lazergun - superfast and quality.
If TwitterDub works in the same way - I'd rather choose TWitterDub than FollowLiker.

Does these bots have the feature that followliker has which prevents other accounts from following a person you already followed from another account?

I would be interested in that as well.

Also, @rootjazz, i have 750 twitter accs. Will you software be able to manage them all together? Server Specs is not an issue. Name your preferable specs and i can match them...

I am asking this because i am not happy with followliker, and i am searching for something to move to...

sorry, didn't see these questions

yes, all users an account follwed are logged. By default, this will stop *that* account from following the same user twice. Your other accounts *could* follow the same user as another account. To avoid this you can

1) run a shared action. A shared action will ensure for *that* action only, no account will duplicate a user followed by another user
2) merge already followed lists before an action
3) specify to merge accounts already followed list and link them. So never will they follow duplicate users.

It depends, run those accounts 24x7 uploading videos / images at the same time and you might have memory issues.
Only use the accounts to follow slowly each day and you will be fine.

The app is a 32bit application, meaning it has a 2gb memory limit (regardless of your machine). Yo get around this you can
1) run multiple instances on the same machine
2) install and run on 3 separate machines (again installing multiple instances on those particular machines.

As to how many instances you can run on a single machine, there is no limit set by the app, but around 25 you will probably run out of window handles. So you are looking at an instance limit of about 75 across the 3 machines. But each instance can run 500/1000 accounts *depending* on what you do

They just follow, unfollow, retweet and like. So i can setup some virtual machine on my server and run 2-3 instances per machine, right? As long as the ram is enough ofc.

Am i right @rootjazz

Go to their respective websites and compare yourself
