Can I run this on a mac?
The program is a windows desktop application. In order to run it on a Mac, you will need to use a VM such as Parallels / VMWare etc

Another option is to rent a VPS web server in which you can run the program 24x7. A VPS is a remote machine you access and control via remote desktop, VNC


Does the program run on my machine?
Yes, everything is on your machine, your data, your actions. We do not and can not access anything you do.

Will the program run my actions if I close twitterdub?

Will the program run my actions if I close my computer?
No

Think of twitterdub as a real person, a secretary. You have told them what you want them to do: search for profiles that tweeted with hashtagX, filter those tweets and profile based on these variables: A,B,C,D. The users that pass those tests must be followed and like the most recent 3 tweets. The secretary then sits at your machine and performs those tasks on your computer. The secretary cannot do that if the machine is off.

Will Twitter shut you down?
No, we hope not. We haven't been contacted by Twitter. But as our jurisdiction is non-US, non-EU there probably isn't a lot they can do about it.

Let's say they DO shut you down, will I be able to use the program I purchased.
Yes. As you run the program on your machine, that we cannot access, we cannot remove the program. Should our servers be removed, our staff arrested, then the program will detect this and write a permanant license to disk and no longer make any contact to our licensing server, making it IMPOSSIBLE for us or anyone to stop the program running.

How many accounts can I run in the program?
Unlimited (by us). That means we do not place any limitations on the program. The program does use RAM and the CPU which will place a limit on the number of accounts. Also your usage. if your accounts are only liking 1 media a day you can run more than if you are liking / following / posting images 24x7.

In addition to running unlimited accounts, you can run unlimited instances of the program on your machine, each using a separate database. So you can keep your footbal accounts separate to your BBW accounts (I don't think I am the only one who has used the wrong accounts for the wrong niche before). This always allows you to run more accounts, dividing the accounts across instances, helps keep the database access efficient. Again we do not limit the number of instances per machine, but there is a resource limit. Probably that limit is around 20-25 instances per machine (machine spec dependant).

So you can install the software on 3 machines and run 20 instances per machine, meaning 60 instances. Lets say you run 500 accounts per instance, giving you a total of 30k accounts per license

The bot was using twitter api before twitter made the change to request developer approval before allowing usage of the API and Martin updated twitterdub in less than a week (if I remember correctly) to become only web based (this is a a lot of work if you know programming). You can see the changelog, that was the jump from version 1.xx to 2.xx

Twitterdub is really powerful in term of features and although I was doing a lot with it, there are some features I never used so you can be sure you will have your use case covered. If not, just ask him

If I had to rate the bot I would give it a 4/5. The -1 would be because of the lack of documentation. Although there are many features that are currently covered by the existing documentation, I think most of the new improvements are not (to be honest I stopped looking for it after a few weeks of usage). There is a feature I am sure I am the only one that knows it exists in twitterdub because I am the one that requested it and you need to edit a file to use it). You must be prepared to put the time and learn how to use the tool to make the best out of it. I am saying this because the first time I bought tumblingjazz I had to ask for a refund because I found it hard to use and couldn't find the documentation to help me. The second time I bought it with twitterdub, I put more time and learn both tools (the interfaces are similar). My best investment in the past 2 years probably.
On the other side you can always ask questions in the forum and you will get answers fast (most of the time by Martin himself).
Just to be clear again, features are there, once you understand the bot better, you will be able to guess how all/most features work.

To conclude, if you are looking for a twitter bot, definitely buy twitterdub. Put the time to learn how to use it and you won't regret it. Anyway you have a 30 days money back guarantee so you have nothing to lose.

You don't need to scrape users before you follow them. You have many ways to follow but most of the time I decide to scrape users with an external script before feeding them to twitterdub because I do lot of processing/cleaning etc... But you don't need. You can instruct in twitterdub to follow users based on a search, tweet, profile... so many combinations possible. For example you can make the bot follow using this logic:
- search "nba"
- scrap all the most popular results returned (tweets)
- scrap users that interacted with those tweets (like/retweet/share)
- you could follow those OR you could scrap their "followers" or "followings"
- then follow those results OR get the latest tweet of those users then following people that liked those tweets

it doesn't make sense I know but that is the point, you can make any combination you want, the tool is quite flexible on that regard.


Accounts that are banned/suspended/locked or whatever will be marked/flagged in twitterdub. you will need to open the profile page to know what is going on. After the account is flagged in td, if you open the profile page and the account is not locked/suspended it probably means that twitter wants you to change the password because of suspicious activities...

Twitter sucks. Twitterbots suck. That said, support is ready to go (see forum) and I do love my tweet images & dynamic tweets campaigns that TD gives me

I have to say there have been very few programs I would support. TwitterDub IS one of those very few. It's the best program out there to date. As someone else on here said, the documentation is a bit lacking, and the video tutorials are a bit outdated too, HOWEVER RootJazz is VERY active in his development and and will jump on bug fixes almost instantly! He's also active in his support forums to answer any questions. I did buy this product and am a current user who is extremely happy. Would be even happier is the videos where updated and there was a full on user guide, but I'm still happy nonetheless. The money spent on a TwitterDub license is WELL WORTH IT! No the program is NOT a browser bot. It automates the website by sending what are basically text based commands that replicate what you do in the browser. These are some times called HTTP Request bots / sockets bots

The program will update the account if twitter shows a blocked / banned / verification response.

Maybe you can try something.... a crowd-sourced documentation by existing customers.

If you can find a a way to set up a page/website with existing questions or just a skeleton of documentation, then you could send an email to existing customers to ask them to answer those/write some how-tos. Even videos, maybe. That could give you a solid base and then you can review the answers before transferring them to the official doc. Or keep this available to every one too. A little bit like you do with twitterdub testing/stable releases.
