Just a heads up if you didn't know. Twitter has made it much easier to get verified now and is a lot less strict on who they are verifying. Seeing people with less than 500 followers with the blue check that their claim to fame is a low viewed YouTube channel etc. I submitted one of my accounts that has approx 2000 followers and was approved in less than 48 hours.

I wonder what do you need exactly to get your account verified? What's the procedure?

Really? Proof? I know you can submit a blue check request but don't you need to be some type of "Celebrity, working for BIG Company, etc..." ?

Twitter has a page on getting verified. I followed their instructions and linked to 2 articles I wrote for a website. That was it.

Here's an example of someone I don't think anyone would consider famous, @IanBoothby with the check. Tons of similar accounts getting verified.

haha there are lots of "non famous" people getting verified but that's an odd example, he wrote comics for Futurama and The Simpsons and is a multi award winner.

Unfortunately, did not work for my account, though they did get back to me much faster this time (was my second attempt at getting verified).
I'm in the beauty/fashion niche, maybe not a lot of verifying going on with those type of accs

The quickest way to get verified is to have a few guest blog posts or a few original youtube videos. If you get your writing onto someone else's blog, and submit that, Twitter slides you right through. I think Twitter mostly wants to verify you're quality, impactful, and really you. Probably, just writing something quality on Medium might be enough.

(someone in beauty/fashion probably won't get verified, but if you write about it, Twitter will consider you more of an influencer.)

Just submitted my account to get verified, about 1K followers and 0 following, when they respond I will reply if it is working or not. I have news brand account @high_broadcast
