Twitter Trending

Just a thought here, wondering if any Twitter guys can maybe answer this or brainstorm it. Would it be possible to "buy" enough tweets to get a trending topic? Basically paying people to re-tweet or tweet something with the same hash tag. Lets say I were promoting an upcoming indie film called "Yesterday's Oranges," would it be possible to pay for enough tweets or re-tweets with the hashtag #yesterdaysoranges so that it becomes a trending topic? Just curious... Please let me know and if it is possible, how much would something like this potentially cost?

Possible, it is. But you would need like 5,000 Tweets in a time span of 10 minutes to make it a Trending Topic, and then a large number of tweets or retweets to keep it trending so normal people could notice...

It would probably cost thousands...
