Twitter traffic - bot trafic

Yesterday I promoted some files (porn hosted on sha*ecash.0rg) on twitter. I used bit.ly to track my stats and I get 250 clicks (132 USA, 19 UK) but not even a single download!
Conclusion:
1. Twitter traffic comes mostly from bots.
2. I posted with model: -trend- -tweet- -link- but my tweets weren't appearing in public timeline.

I'll agree that there is a lot of bot traffic on twitter but you may be having another problem:

I've noticed that Twitter has started to "ghost" accounts now. I believe it happens when you post the same tweet too many times.

By ghosting I mean that your account stops showing up in peoples follower list and your tweets disappear from both the public time line and from your followers time line (I've investigated this). It's like your account disappears but you can still log in.

Were you posting the same thing over and over?
 
If some payment needed to sign up for the sites you promoting then no conversions is normal for twitter traffic.

So, I will have to upgrade my twitter-spam-soft. ;)
I will also create one account just to follow all my accs.
 
I dont think its bots clicking your links.. I cant see the reasoning behind that.

The fact is that spamming trends aimlessly with pronz passes or whatever on sharecash is never going to work. Not even if twitter was the greatest source of free traffic ever.

You have to target the people man, people talking about a miley cyrus trend may click on your link in curiosity, but they are never going to convert.

There are 3 possible reasons of this situation:
1. Bots visiting every link on twitter
2. Highly non-targeted visitors
3. Bit.ly fakes stats - similar post here http://www.blackhatworld.com/blackhat-seo/1049408-post10.html

The most obvious is reason number 2 but I can't belive that nobody of 250 people (according to bit.ly stats) was horny internet pervert.
