My Twitter account was permanently suspended at the end of August. It was never explained to me why and I honestly have no idea what could be the reason…
I’ve filed an appeal, but there’s still no answer. It’s been a month!

I really do believe that my account was suspended by mistake. And I hope to get it back. But with such awful support I’m not sure I stand a chance.

What’s the longest you’ve ever waited for Twitter support to address your appeal? Has anyone faced something similar to what I’m dealing with now? Maybe you have some suggestions on what I’m supposed to do in this case. Thank you!

What kind of account it was? I had 2 suspended buy got back within a month.

Was it your personal account? Or an account with a lot of following/other credentials?

If not, then why not simply create a new account and move on with it? Even if your present account gets unblocked (which, by the way, might never happen), at least you are going ahead with your business!

It was a business account.
So it took them a month to address your appeals? Maybe after all I'll get my account back as well, or at least Twitter will explain why it was suspended in the first place.

It was a business account. Can’t say it was huge, but I was happy with the amount of followers and the overall target audience engagement. It took me a while to get there, so I hope to get this account back.

You’re right, it might never happen, but then I’d like to know why. I have no idea what's the reason behind permanent suspension. Hopefully Twitter support will at least give me this info, so I can avoid suspension of my new account, when I decide to have one and to invest time and energy in growing it organically.

When it comes to how long it takes for you to get your account back, we can only speculate since it purely depends on the type of suspension and the violation made. However, we can say that, on average, the Twitter suspension lasts for around 48 hours in the case of a minor violation of Twitter policies. That's the time it takes for Twitter to review your account, the phone number you provided, or any other piece of information you use for verification.

However, if the violation is not simply spammy behaviour but something more serious, the Twitter suspension could last longer. For example, if your account is put on read-only mode, you are not in too big of trouble. Since your account is seen as usually 'healthy', this kind of suspension is only temporary and could last from 12 hours to 7 days maximum. The duration still depends on how serious the violation is. If Twitter requires that you verify the ownership with an email address or a phone number, the suspension lasts until the completion of the challenge, such as providing the necessary information. However, if you are dealing with a more serious violation of Twitter's policies, it is more likely that you will have to face a permanent suspension. This is the most serious form of a suspension and it lasts the longest. Once you file a report, Twitter will look into your account and see if the suspension is valid. How long the suspension will last or if you will get your account back completely depends on Twitter’s response to the appeal.

When I log in I see this message "Your account is permanently in read-only mode, which means you can’t Tweet, Retweet, or Like content. You won’t be able to create new accounts. If you think we got this wrong, you can submit an appeal." It's been a month since I've submitted the appeal, and there's still no answer. I guess they should at least explain what led to the permanent suspension, right?
