I'm just wondering what a safe following daily limit is in your personal experience?

I use Tweet Adder and it claims you can follow 1000 people each day, but wondering, if that's pushing my luck?

What about ratio of following to followers? Tweet Adder has default of 1.5 to 1, meaning the more followers you get, the more you can then follow.

Cheers in advance.

A bit of browsing took me to a website saying 2000 is the ultimate maximum you can follow? Or has this limit been upped?

IMO, the limit varies depending on how long you've had the Twitter account and also what country you live in.

2k is the maximum that you can follow, until you have 2k+ followers. Then it's the 10% rule, which basically means that you can follow 10% more than your followers.

I currently have 62,000+ followers and I'm following over 67K :)

Impressive stuff! I've had the account quite a while actually... since end of last summer, so around since September of 2009. I'm currently sticking to the ratio of 1:5 so not following more than one and a half times the amount who are following me back ... but if I can go straight up to near 2000 regardless, then I'd do it.

I only 356 followers, with me following 546... but would get these numbers up much quicker if I went up to near 2000 straight off.

What about amount of time to leave before unfollowing? 24 hours a decent time?

are you adding these fans via api? is go don't go more than 150 a day or you'll get banned.

I'm adding them via Tweet Adder. I'm currently following around 300 a day, but wondering if anybody's experience tells them a max number to keep under the radar, in terms of max following per day, max following vs followers ratio etc.

From my experience....& trust me, i had loads of Twitter accounts suspended through trials.
TweetAdder is fine software for adding.
Although you'll read that you can add up to 2000 followers, i would always stay 'stay stealthy' & don't add over 350/day (especially if it's a new Twitter a/cc).
Always leave at least 24Hrs before Unfollowing those who don't follow you. I would always err on the side of caution though & say Unfollow only twice per week.
Okay, so it's going to take 2 weeks to get 2000 initial followers (dependant upon your niche) but it's safer. I wouldn't risk Twitter a/cc's anymore.
They have gone a lot more stringent than 1 yr ago. It used to be that your account would be suspended for using a Bot. You'd contact them, say "Sorry, i'll never do it again," & they gave you your accoutn back but now they've realised the commercial viability of their service & it's not that easy anymore to re-instate accounts.
When you breach 2000 followers you can only add 11% additional followers per day.
Their site says "10%" but from tests, i am able to safely add 11% extra per day.
It's gruelling but when you get to 10,000 followers, you can start adding 1,000 per day.

Thanks that's very helpful, just what I was looking for.

I'll probably unfollow every 3 days then (Tweet Adder default) and follow around 350 daily until I eventually get into the 2000 > 10-11%.

What about message limits?

Thats a very useful information put up here. I have started a new account, paid money to a gentleman here, he logged into my account and followed 500 people. in 10 minutes, twitter banned my account.
the 10% follow/followers ratio is fantastic imo.

Don't worry about message limits. That's not going to hurt your account.

I have noticed that some people creating Twitter a/cc's and selling them straight away do get them banned & the primary reasons are because the accounts are setup using multiple email addresses that are derivatives of the same GMail account (just adding a '+' or a '.' in different places in the same email address). This causes blanket bans across all Twitter accounts this address is applied to if any one of the accounst is found to be naughty.
It's also against Twitter TOS to create more than 10 accounts per IP address. Sometimes a/cc creators setup the accounts in a hurry forgetting to vary the IP addr.

Hello,

Twitter is now the most popular social networking site. In a day you can make the following upto 300 to 400 limits. Twitter is the nice place to share your information..

Thanks

To keep under the radar I follow 3 times a week no more than 300-500 ppl and unfollow once a week.

I add 147 daily and unflow 119 every other day. Current have about 800 followers and about 1200 following.

Each day I now:

Follow 350
Unfollow any that didn't follow back (I give them 3 days to follow me back)
Message any new followers
