Twitter Request

If you would, please send out a Twitter to all your followers to check their Chase credit card statements. Chase has modified their terms of service and is slapping a "service charge" of $10/month on some accounts.

They slapped it on my account because I don't charge enough on my card each month. But I can't cancel the card because I am still paying off the balance.

About a year ago I got an offer from Chase saying I could transfer all my balances to them with a fixed 3.9% rate until the loan was repaid.

The catch was that any existing balances or any new charges would be under the older higher rates and my payments would not go to those charges until the lower rate transfers were paid off - so that meant that it would be stupid to make new charges on the card. So that is what I've been doing, paying off the card and not charging anything on it. Now they have slapped a $10/month fee on my account since they can't change the interest rate.

So hopefully you BHW'ers will help me get my revenge by spreading the message and get people to call Chase and protest, cancel their accounts if they can or transfer their accounts to other credit card companies.:rocketwho

Thanks to all of you BHW'ers that sent out a Twit for me. I got a letter today saying that Chase is canceling the $10 service charge program and refunding the previous service charges.

Good for you...Social protest using Web2.0...I like that and like the fact that you didn't take it laying down.
