Anyone else having issues with twitter phone verification doesnt seem smapva or getsmscode works anymore...

I know elon muusk tweeted the end of bots it appears he did something with the phone verification system.

I also noticed you cant use chinese numbers anymore. The +86 china extention is gone.

DOes google voice work for twitter does anyone know?

What are my options?

What is the exact issue you are facing with sms code verification for Twitter ? Is it that the verification code does not arrive to the phone number ? If so, it could be due to bad IPs. Because their algorithms may think : "Oh, this dude is trying to create a stealth Twitter account, because it is a crappy datacenter IP / residential IP, so I'll not send the sms verification code, even if this dude tries a million times".
As a test, use 4G mobile proxies to create a few accounts, and gather cookies in each browser profile before trying to create Twitter accounts via each of them.

Having the same problem out here, yet to find a workaround

LOL bro.... Im using 4g mobiles. I even tried to create an account on my actual phone data. And even tried on my laptop on my home wifi... Same issue, and even if it was because of a shitty IP, doesn't explain why the +86 china extension is missing.... I always use Chinese extensions, because the numbers are way cheaper. I tired USA numbers which are way more and they arent working.

Ive tried getsmscode and smspva and even tried a new service called pingme. None are working...

Can someone try to verify a twitter and see if it works, and if it works let me know what sms service you used.

Thanks

Please let me know if you find a way that works. Ill do the same.

This sucks.... Might actually be the end if you're unable to verify accounts using a budget friendly number.

Man no one uses twitter much on BHW anymore huh?

I forgot I had a textverified account, I had 1 credit left. I think they're expensive not sure.

But I tried it and twitter accepted the number. So it appears textverified still works.

I found this service. Looks intriguing. https://onlinesim.io/

But im having issues topping up my account. If anyone could use it and see if it works let me know before I waste my time trying to top up the accouunt just for their numbers not to work.

They are very cheap. So I hope it works.

@deeznutzulick , that would be the issue, in your case. Numbers of various virtual number providers can be "seen" as virtual numbers by various platforms and then they "patch" the usage of such numbers. The same issue happens with creating Google (Gmail) accounts too. But, what happens incase of Google, is they will patch the usage of many virtual numbers and then after a while (a week or two), those bunch of numbers will again start working to receive sms codes. I am sure, it will be the same with Twitter also. After a while, the patched numbers will be "unpatched" and be to receive sms codes. In the meantime, use textverified, but every 2 or 3 days, do try the numbers of the providers which are currently patched, as they may suddenly start to work again for receiving sms codes.

Oh wow good to know thanks for that. So is the +86 china extension gone? it appears it is. It looks like musk is tyring to get rid of chinese bots.

I also had a similar situation, then I referred the question to BHW.
A friend explained that: "Elon Much has fired all the call center staff, so no one else does that job" :D
Elon is so bad :suspicious:

Have the same issue also, its been 2 days now. We tried sim cards from Philippines, Indonesia and China. All are not working, had the same issue before, hopefully it will get back soon.

I guess birdie Elon Musk has fired all the tech folks in Twitter and now the algorithms part of Twitter is being handled by chefs & butchers of the cafeterias of Twitter offices, because without staff (employees), those Twitter offices' cafeterias will be empty, so why not utilize the chefs & butchers in a productive way for coding and handling Twitter's algorithms.
Therefore, these issues such as not receiving sms codes for Twitter accounts, etc are occuring.
It may take some time for Elon Musk to realize that although Twitter is a social media platform, it still requires coders & programmers. We cannot really blame Elon Musk for being so dumb. Elon Musk has so far only been involved in his hard core tech dependent ventures, so he thought why should a social media platform require any tech staff such as coders / programmers ? So, obviously he fired all tech staff and he fired all the coders & programmers. Twitter is a business model that is new for Elon Musk and it will take him a few months or a few years to grasp the basics of running a social media platform. Till then the algorithms of Twitter may continue to be operated by Twitter's chefs & butchers.

IDK where did you hear all that from the news? Read what you just wrote... You think, you actually think chefs and butlers are running twitters infrastructure? Jesus, people please stop watching the news....

How does anyone know what the fuck is going on inside of twitter besides twitter??? You dont think people who code teslas/space x dont know what theyre doing?

Dont want to sound like a jerk btw. Im thankful for your help. But I disagree with you severely about the chefs stuff man haha.

Quite a few more posts like this have started to crop up in a few places. Yeah, there seems to be a phone verification issue. Or maybe a feature, depends on how you look at it. Easiest way to go about this is buy a spare SIM and register using that number. If you happen to live away from the country who's phone number you need, well, the best thing to do is try your luck on other virtual number providers that still work while they still work. Twitter's been chalk full of uncertainties what with all that's going on.

Ive never used a sim service before. How much do sims cost usually in america? Doesnt each sim have to have a data plan and cost an activation fee? Isnt it way to expensive to uuse real sims?

I think the problem is not in the sim card, but in the account
