Twitter Phone Verification Code

So I'm trying to create a twitter account to build up rep, I'm browsing under a proxy and I'm using a throwaway email. In the process of signing up however, Twitter wants me to provide a phone number. Clearly I do not want to do this, as my phone number is already tied to my personal account. What can I do here?
