Twitter & Patreon: Potential?

So I run an educational Twitter account (over 3 million followers), which tweets out knowledge, and facts about pretty much every subject on the planet.

I do pretty well with blog posts and Adsense, but I wonder whether something such as Patreon could work even better? I don't want to rely on Adsense, and think a guaranteed monthly payment from subscribers is safer.

I'd charge the bottom monthly price so most people could afford it.

The incentives would be:

1. A new unique article each day (I'd simply outsource this and get a shit hot writer to research and write).
2. Providing their account is interesting and offers something to my followers, I'd follow them.

The only real downside I see is that people can research and learn things over the Internet. This is why I've thrown in the 'follow' incentive. When I follow accounts, that account gains new followers from that alone. Presumably because people think if I follow it must be also worth following.

People are really touchy when it comes to donating. I've seen some youtubers with a crazy amount of patreon supporters. But their content really resonate with the audience. Do you think your content is worthy of donations?
You can try it out nevertheless. Make an emotional pitch to see their reaction. Worst case you'll get no patreons but you'll at least know the outcome.

What about affiliate products? Gave you tried already?

I'm doing well with Adsense, I'm just thinking ahead really, as Adsense is very unpredictable.

Affiliate products have been awful with social media for me. Perhaps it's because they aren't in "buying mode".

Affiliates work best with me with my Email Marketing traffic.

For people who enjoy learning random new things, yeah I do. It probably wouldn't suit people who aren't interested in learning - however, my followers must have followed because they love to improve their general knowledge.

Just my opinion, I don't think that you can get many patreons. From what I have seen, audience size does not matter when it comes to patreon, it comes down to how passionate your audience is about your content. And I don't think people are passionate enough about facts and trivia to pay for them.

But there is no harm in trying. Maybe do a poll with your followers about the patreon first and see how things turn out.

Patreon works best with video content. I have not heard about someone making money with patreon with text content.

A few football (soccer) journalists have turned to it.

They have contacts of football transfers and reveal most of the names/news via Patreon articles to those paying. I'm sure many more make money from text content.
