ok so last night I was manually following people because I only had 20 followers. And I kept getting followers the more I followed and posted a twit. I now have 930 that I am following, and 182 that are following me. All that happens now when I select to follow someone is nothing. Not even a get more followers message, all I see is a spinning circle in the right center corner and it loads until the end of time lol. if anyone knows why please tell.

Does *not* sound like you have done anything wrong.
Twitter has been slammed over the past weeks and cannot meet demand.
The spinning circle tells me that you are on Vista? Have you tried closing the broswer and restarting and/or rebooting your system?
If that does not help than give Twitter a day and see if it clears up. If not than there is something else that is wonky.
My bet is that Twitter is the problem. Let hope they add capacity sooner rather than later.

Try another computer -- see if the problem persists.
That has been my experience as well. In essence you could hit 2000 following with 100 followers.
Twitter will only notify you when you get banned -- even then they may just ban you account without communication.

it stops you at 900, then more people have to follow you OR you have to wait a certain time. Then it stops you again at 2000 people, and then you need a range of 180 to get more followers.

I have had the same problem recently, I am following 1200 people and have 980 following me I have 180 people who are following but not following back, I have tried to do it manually and I have tried to use various tools to do it with like karma etc etc, but still no joy, I cannot get them to follow. I will keep trying and see what happens.
