yesterday all my twitter accounts got banned, they were onlline for a month or more, and had near 1000 followers. i recreated the acounts, they got banned in 6 hours again.
I tried to edit my following script to follow/unfollow using web instead api, banned again.
The last ones i create just got banned even without me following a single user, right after i added them to twitter tools in WP .
Now ill try to force bit.ly links in twitter tools and see what happens.

    any other ideas?

nope, i wrote my own tool, but as i said, even accounts that did NOTHING were banned. and i used different IP for each 4-5 signups.
the only thing that comes to mind is that someone says it bans depending on profile image.

Is the user-agent correct on your tool? I've seen other sites ban based on that. Look at the actual packets on your tool vs. a real user signup. Wireshark is my preferred tool for this task.

Are you using public proxies? It's pretty easy to do a proxy-check on any IP that creates more than a couple accounts. Anything using port 80 or 8080 would be pretty obvious.

I wouldnt say there's anything new. Heck, I use a tool someone from BHW made and I have 4 accounts and none are banned.

Agree with C.S.A., and also double check your http headers.

The User-Agent? I wouldn't think Twitter bans on that... Although they could. So many people are digging into their API, including 100% novice users of PHP, that I think a huge proportion of people would be connecting with no user agent.

But proxies, Yeah. If you were using public proxies, you have absolutely no chance.

I have dynamic IPs on my ISP.
The thing is: i created 5 acounts, they live for 5 days, i create 30 more, and those 30 + 2 of the previous 5 get banned.

well, i use it to follow unfollow and for some posting. A bit of posting i do with other script, that tweets via web.
what i noticed is that if i keep the number of accounts low (<15) i have no troubles, but if i fire API on 30 accounts it all gets instabanned

use http://twitterfeed.com instead . . . then just set up a WP just to BLAST out the tweets - that way it is a more familiar api pushing the tweets to twitter and the time line won't be so automatic

Also . . . you can use twitter feed to prefix the tweets each a little differently

This might be a shot in the dark, but are you cleaning all your cookies including your LSO or Flash cookies anytime you are accessing them without the API?

From all of my twitter accounts. One of them were banned with 778 followers. While one of my application were suspended not the twitter account.

These account are posting every 15 minutes and doing about 8 action every hour. I think that's the reason for banned.

I also have another account which is made only for fun and every tweet it says make people angry and swearing. But it's not banned by twitter untill now.

Thats the reason... I am almost sure all of those dynamic IPs are still going to show up as the same location.. they can most likely still tell they are proabably from the same user even if they are different IPs if they're just coming from your ISP.. you need to use proxies so that they show up from different locations

If you follow more than 200 users( 201 is overkill=Bann) thenn you´ll get a bann ;) the limit für unfollow is 100 per day.

If you use proxys for every account it shouldnt be a problem
