That's what they tell us. We don't really know.

For instance, most FIFA events are tax exempt. World Cups do NOT pay tax nor report earnings to local authorities. So you could say they sold a billion or a trillion, nobody knows.

Soccer is a black box and the numbers are surreal. 200 million Euro for a soccer player is suspicious as fuck if you ask me and we'll never know what's truly behind it. It may or may not be about merchandise and TV revenue, but then again I may be wrong.

Sports is super shady, pretty much all the top atheletes are on some kind of PEDs. They will lie to the public about the tourism stats that sports brings in so that a government gives them some kind of tax break and or subsidiary.
 
Right now if you control Twitter you can control the world. A Saudi Arabian prince has a larger stake in Twitter than Jack Dorsey himself. Saudi Arabia looks like a great place to live if you view it through Twitter's tinted glasses. It's because the Prince pressures Twitter to mass ban anyone who paints that country in a bad light.

Controlling the narrative is what the rich people are after these days. No reason really, other than just typical circle jerking, elitist bullshit. Dad struck oil and now his kids deserve to run the world. :rolleyes:

So yeah, to the people sitting hundreds of millions in cash, might as well buy it.

Twitter has large amount of duplicate accounts, and its user base is declining, so no it doesn't control the world.

I am a dumb female - please explain how the Saudi prince can change my mind ? Or make his country looks good? If he pressures twitter to mass ban - they should ban 70% of the users lol ......

You underestimate the power of media.

I see political parties using Twitter very efficiently. While marketers are somewhat immune (but not completely) to mass communication techniques, 99% of folks on social media are not.

You have no idea how much you can influence by controlling something like Twitter.

You'd think 99% of the crap there is noise. Well that noise gets votes, and that noise sells stuff, and that noise makes up minds. All political parties and all powerful nations, heck even terrorists, are using Twitter to reach their audience.
