Less than 1k.
It also says 2,4k tweets/day. You shouldn't always go by the book.
How many followers do you have? And how much time interval between follows?

There are not set in concrete limits.
All the OP can say is, "I have performed a 100 a day for (n) days and not had a problem".
Same as you, you performed 300 follows in one day without issues. Doesn't mean you can go 300 every day 365 days a year though.

How long did you wait between follows? I have set mine to 2-3 seconds interval.
I limit mine to 200/day.

I think limits (as rootjazz alluded to) are related more to how many people follow you. So if 0 the limit is low but if the ratio is 1:1 or higher follow back then the limit will increase. Also they will delete all your followings often if you are doing aggressive.
I really haven't focused on following for a while though as I found hashtags had the greatest effect for traffic though that too has destroyed for me in the last weeks so am left scratching my head again for an effective strategy.

I read your topic, you also do adult niche like me.
Well, I've personally quit Twitter and moved onto different grounds (porn re-uploading). I used to make loads with Twitter consistently until a few months ago. Nowadays, it feels like Twitter is extremely saturated for adult niche. I encourage you to try a non-adult niche or leave Twitter for good.
Just looking at my Twitter DMs from recently, it's mostly filled of kids with anime/Minecraft/cartoon/meme avatars (using mainstream adult hashtags), you won't make money with this kind of traffic. I could still make a bit of money with Twitter, but it's died down from what I can tell, so it was latest time to move on. I have bigger money goals than that.

the limit is for sure 400 a day .
but with minutes/hours delay . repeated follow pattern = temp blocked for following.

twitter reduced the follow limit from 1k to 400/day in 2018 -_- in ~ 2008 it was 2k
with a 40 k account i can follow 400/day within ~20min

I can add few hundreds daily ( i am doing manually for testing purpose) using very old account.
Started testing almost 15 days ago, and got 2 time EV and 1 times PV and 4 times Captcha.
Do not remove the phone number from the account. You will get better performance. ( you must have the phone number access)
