Twitter is updating its algorithm

I have a five year-old personal, non-spammy account w about 50k followers. I engage my followers and just use the account for fun. Was following around 900/day and got locked last week. I knocked it back down to 500/day to play is safe. It's annoying though that Twitter is so anal that they inconvenience even those who are using the service responsibly.

So is this an unannounced 500/day following limit? Or do we go back to normal after they smoke out the spam accounts?

I think that we are looking in the wrong place the whole time for explanation for the tweeter banning spree.

As I notice there are people who have a banned account for literally doing nothing, some are only tweeting images and nothing else. i think the main reason our account are banned is becouse twitter have discover the sellers proxies for twitter account creations an banned every fucking account that was maid by that proxy/IP.

If twitter notices that there are like 1000 accounts made by the same proxy, probably they will ban all the accounts. I think this is happening and we really can't know with how many other abusive account we are sharing the same proxy that are account where created.

Interesting theory...

It is not unsafe to follow up to 1k a day. If you will hit the limit it means that you can't follow more and that's it.
The thing is to play with delays and make sure that if you use proxy you're using it in a right way, because if you will use 1 proxy for all of your accounts it will obviously get flagged.

Once you will hit a specified amount of followers then you can use most likely no delays at all ;)

Same stuff here, got 3 pages suspended.
Now i'm working with lower settings, but i'm not tweeting. Started 3 days ago, no bans.
I would make a post with all my new settings but i don't get why the bh forum doesn't allow me to do this, I'm not trying to sell anything or break any forum rule, just tryin to help...

What if I'm massing 950 every 24 hours but I do it in a quick time frame? Like twenty minutes

It's just flagging keywords. Like b..u..y or s..e..l..l, etc. Remove any words that could possibly be associated with commerce, and it'll stop blocking you.

I think that if your followers amount is decent nothing should happen. Nothing has changed in that specified thing :).

Both wizard04 and I had accounts banned that were doing nothing at all. So its not foll/unfoll or what you are posting. What is not clear is whether their algo has actually changed (as they clear accounts every month normally) or if this was just a one off.

Hi guys,

I was wondering anybody here is using Tweet Attacks Pro for tasks like follow, unfollow, favorite etc... ??

the reason why I'm asking is I can't use Tweet Attacks Pro to follow people on twitter anymore :( and I'm not getting even single follow from that software.

could you please share what software are you using for that ?

Thank you in advance.

The algorithm seems to have slowed...

Although I experienced a lock on 1 account of mine, I just phone verified all of them and waited a few days to go back to what I was doing before.

They're expecting security to be maximized account wide and they should let you sneak by as long as you are a brand or own an authority profile.

They just did the first clean sweep though so it looks like another one might come around Christmas time...

If your account isn't small you shouldn't have too many problems which implies reinstating suspended accounts would work in your favor if you end up getting one or many shut off. Just be sure to delay your appeals.

They might be planning a seasonal, holiday or quarterly wipe out for all accounts that aren't established. The new factors look as if age, authority, reach and contribution status / levels would be the most vital taken into consideration.

I thought the same thing from previous bans that affected by accounts but I changed my method and still got bans. All my accounts are manually created by me, and created on the same proxy that I use to post for each account. And by "proxy" I mean I use my own VPS. I do not buy accounts. I do not use a proxy supplier. Very very very low prob that my IPs have been used for Twitter or any other Social Network. I only have 1 account per VPS. So whilst yes, accounts will prob be banned if too many have been created on the same proxy. That was not the case with my latest losses.

Twitter have broadened what they are looking for. They are not just looking at aggressive foll/unfoll behaviour, or Ips and Ph#s used to created accounts. They are clearly also now looking at what accounts are NOT doing. Ie. Only posting, and not following, being follwed, or retweeting anyone, seems to be a trigger now.

I will test this though, change my method, and see if I can keep my accounts safe for the next round of bans. We'll see

As I see it, Twitter are not eager to purge too many accounts so they only try to restrict very spammy activity.
And you raised a very valid point... it's not what you do... but what you don't do... A real account would have random likes and favs but bots will not.

Anyway I have successfully unbanned one of my acc, now I am trying to unban the second one and I thin I will be successful.
I suggest to all of you who lost bigger account to try ant get it back, most likely you will get it back as the % of people contacting the "support" for there banned acc is low.

First of all, this is just a bug and has been around twitter for at least a year.
As for limits - it is safe yo follow 700 - 900 users a day, that's what i`ve been doing for a year and haven't been banned once.

I'm curious how many accounts you have per ip?

I'm following 240 accs per day which are scattered through 24 hours. Within last month, 30 percent of my accs get locked or suspended. Some of them never posted any advertisement nor links in all history of the account. In addition I never do rt or fav. They are all natural. Posting normal tweets in average of two-hour-slices doesn't count spam, i think. All tweets are randomly selected among 100k different tweets. I collected them from websites as a best of.

Considering that I do twitter staff for two years and based on my experience, I can say that same IP or same phone numbers have importance on mass bans which twitter occassionally suspends lots of lots of accounts in only few days. But, getting a few locked or suspended accounts even they never post links in each day is a new concept for me. I can strongly say that something big changed on Twitter's security algorithm and automated follows are fundamental on it.

Eventually, Twitter will exterminate all of us. ;)

Twitter will exterminate itself if they're going to continue with all this suspensions, locking accounts and a lot of them without any reason. That kind of reminds me of early death of squidoo. It started the same way like is now with twitter. No explanations and no human words behind their actions and that's the reason that people eventually move on somewhere else.

is the banning spree over? or it's just a little changes to my tactics? a week a go i got like 30% bans, now its 0%

I'm having issues with newer accounts locking. Letting them cool off for a day or two right now before I ease back into them and continue testing. My two older and larger accounts are tweeting, retweeting and unfollowing fine but I'm having trouble scraping and following new users. Could be my own error using followliker but the account spontaneously went from following 300-500 per day to zero yesterday so I'm not sure.
