Twitter & Hootsuite - Banning

Hi everyone,

What are your thoughts on this:

I have hundreds of twitter accounts created from different IPs and I use tweetadder to get followers/following with various TFF ratios.

I use hootsuite for scheduling tweets and recently many accounts have been banned so just wondering what your thoughts are?

I've only set the accounts to follow around 5-15 per day and not been spamming them

They are also categorised like a group of accounts "interested" in finance and another set into health etc

The only thing I can think of is:
1) Hootsuite doesnt use proxy so twitter may be clocking the login from hootsuite to all the accounts - but why have they all not been banned in this case?

2) I've neglected natural tweets with no links so most tweets, although there arnt many per account, will have a link in there

Maybe you should check the comments or forums for the individual softwares you are using, if you haven't already. Maybe some other users are experiencing the same problems. I would be interested to know as well.

In my experience twitter's automated ban system is shitlike...
Real example: i created 2k accounts in 2 hours from the same ip:
No bio/pic/activation , i just created them, not used
Result: after 3 hours 20 accts were banned, rest were ok
Next day: another 100-200 banned
Third day: almoast all banned
None of the accounts ever tweeted

Twitter will only allow you to have 5 accounts per proxy. As far as I am aware hootsuite does not use proxies, so if you log on to your accounts with hootsuite, twitter can see that all of you accounts are comming from one proxy, irrespective of weather you tweet or not

if hootsuit is using the twitter api its very unlikely that it will be banned from that, at the end of the day your not the only one using hootsuit... all data transactions have to take place via a single IP address, so do so many other software such as twiends etc... even though it has thousands of users, all data transaction will be between twiends IP and twitter, your ip isn't sent along with it.

Are the proxys you used private? if not its more likely that many people used the same ip that you did while you were developing your accounts. What reason did twitter give for banning you?

twitter didn't reply to us and we bought the accounts created from different ips but they were fine for months before the recent banning so not sure
