For me the program not working for sometime. Same problem happens.. It adding users, telling it added 000 of users, but when checking twitter page, no change happens.

For those with problems. Its hard to explain without going into programming terms. But it just cant fail. I know there have been bugs, but.... Twitter's API is really simple, and it is impossible to get wrong.
I still use this application on the odd occasion and it never fails me. And as you can see others dont seem to have a problem either.
Double + Triple check your password, it generally wont check for you (Only in extreme cases where the cookies arent set etc it can check). It only sends the request to add friends, it doesnt check whether it was successful. Therefore it basically goes like this
- Open "pipe" to twitter
- Hey twitter add this friend, here is my username and password to add it to
- Close "pipe" immediately.
- Twitter then says "Hey yip thats done for you" or "Sorry thats actually an invalid password".
- But its too late and ive already closed the pipe through which twitter and the application can talk.

Software works, but it`s not following anybody when I check the twitter... I`m gonna try it again.. I checked the pass etc..I hope it works with another account... ouh and older version of this works perfectly fine
Old version and this version are identical in adding friends.
There's sometimes a delay between following people and it appearing on twitter.com but I don't have a problem with the software.
1 question: If I use the software to add, say 450 people and then 'unfollow' them 24-48 hours later, will the software still follow them again a few days later if I happen to find their username again, or does the software prevent us from following people we have already gathered in the past?
I imagine no, as it doesn't create a .txt file but thought I'd ask.
If not, any chance this could be a future upgrade? It will mean we are saving lots of time as we'll be following new people every time and not going back to people who won't follow us back anyway.

No it currently doesnt do this :
The problem is with windows permissions (Actually it could just be .net permissions but im pretty sure its windows). It wont let you open the same file twice for writing to. So in our case thats a text file.
So with that in mind, people like to open multiple copies of my application up for faster friend adding. I cant have them all writing to a file, as it would crash the lot of them in the process, as they would all try to write at the same time (Or around the same time).
So i could in theory get it to work, if there was a master list that only one version accessed. If you follow my blog at all there is a small screenshot of the new version, and that should be able to handle a master list. Maybe in a couple of versions down the track, but its not on my priority list. Mostly because im not bothered by it

How about each twitter account going in it's own folder. So yes, you'll have a notepad file generated, such as gathered.txt but as there will be one in each folder (mapped to each account), it wont matter how many times the program is opened. twitter.com/example will be ran inside software/example etc. The downside of this would be the accounts wouldn't share the same Master list.
You say you aren't bothered by it, which is fair enough. I do think it would be beneficial though. I imagine, we start following the same Twitterer more than once, on many occasions. This way, we'll be going through the numbers and getting people following us back much quicker.

I suppose that would work. It would just create a shit storm of text files though. I could do it within a xml file but im not too keen on that.

You will just have to wait and see. Im a little slow at developing atm and not really looking into this too much. Ive got a tweet scheduler done, and thats prob all that will be done for the next version. And then ill move on successfully from that.

There are or there will be some, but there is a free site called tweetlater. Everybody and their Grandma is in there.
So, if you DM there, you get spammed with several DMs ..depends on how many you follow.
I opted out and there are fewer DMs, but I still need to find a way to mass delete DMs.

So basically, you mass follow. This in turn gets you a % of people following back - you can then set it up so that when these people do follow back, they get a message instantly from you.
But you say the downside is that this in turn makes them then reply to you with an automated message meaning hundreds of messages are being fired around.
Yes - Twitter needs a 'select all' + delete option for DM, for sure.

Yeah sorry. Hold on.
I changed hosts yesterday. But the DNS changeover wasnt happenign fast enough. And im not sure if any of you know how wordpress works, but you cant use it on TEMP urls before the DNS changes. So i just had to wait.
Then i went to bed.
Then i woke up. And here we are. Gimmie an hour.
On a side note, isnt it funny, how a complete thread can die with no posts, and as soon as i take down the DL link i get a gazillion replies
