twitter follows ban

what is a safe amount of follows per day per account to avoid ban

Not sure, but I used HB yesterday followed about 150 people, and 28 followed me back and I lost my account. I had about 1700 followings and 364 followers. Could be from HB or Twitme. Sucks................
