Twitter Followers

I have had Twitter for a few years now, and have only managed to get 9,000 followers, and now loads of people I know (acquaintances) are getting 700 followers a day!? One guy got 25,000 legit seeming followers in about a week. Then it stopped going up? But then they get loads of retweets and mentions. I can't see how they have done it apart from maybe buying them some how.

I use twiends and occasionally ylh to get followers, but it has taken me ages to get to 9000!

What do you think is the quickest way to get more followers? I was hoping to be able to answer the question myself, after researching this for months but I have failed , and HF can't help me either. As you specialise in SEO I hope you guys can show me some light!

If u want quick followers, then only thing u can do is buy them from various sites!
