When we are getting followers, do followers that are not relevant to the niche matter besides social proof? Like, if I wanted to do targeting ads with specific hashtags, do these irrelevant followers matter?

Because anyone can open follow to whomsoever they want to

If you care for the numbers then they matter
If you care for the quality then they does not

If you want results then you must do good targeting from day 1
