Hey Guys,

Lost about 10% of my Twitter Farm in the last 4 hours or so. I am talking about permanent suspends.

Anyone else seeing anything?

Best,

Risk

It wouldn't surprise me, I just coughed up for followliker 2 days ago lol
When LongTailPro had a lifetime offer on, I purchased it and 2 months latter google broke it for me.
Oh well never mind almost New Year's Eve

It must be the biweekly purge. Lately they do a bit of spring cleaning in every 2-3 weeks. I lost exactly 10% too, not that bad, i expected more. I already replaced them. In the previous wave i lost 50%. A 40-50% loss is pretty common, but 80-90% is a bit extreme.

Weak accs get banned, strong ones survive. Evolution.

What are your settings?
I have a feeling for some time now, that when it comes these purges, settings don't matter much. It's rather related to the ips, not the managing ones, but the ones which were used to create the accounts. At least i can't explain it with anything else, that when a purge happens, why they disable only 10% or 50% and not all, when the settings are pretty much the same for all my accs.

Fun fact: they disable accs, which have never been used. How do i know? I had a few hundred untouched/blank accs, which were very much alive before the previous purge and after the purge, when i tried to use these blank accs to replace the suspended accs, it turned out that the blank accs were disabled too. That's why i think, that settings don't matter at all in this regard.

I imagine Twitter has an ever-expanding pool of blacklisted ip addresses (exact ips, whole ranges), they update this regularly and they run a cleanup in every few weeks. If an account was created using any of those blacklisted ips/ips from blacklisted ip ranges, the account gets suspended.

That makes a lot of sense actually. My accounts were regged and run from various home IP addresses. Nothing public proxy about it.

its been hell keeping up lately. i've though hard about turning everything off.

permanent bans tho??

Yes, we're talking about suspensions here, not account locks, which can be solved via phone.

i don' use twitter a lot but have many aged accounts I log into now and then. I spend most of my time with FB and what I have found is that saving your cookies for each account can help prevent bans. get a plugin for your browser as i'm sure Twitter will also use cookies for most of their data ;)

thats not permanent
What's not permanent? The account suspensions? That is permanent. You can appeal it, but most of the time they will stay suspended unless the accounts are somewhat legit and didn't seriously violated their TOS.

The phone locks are not permanent, that is true. But we weren't talking about those kind of account locks here. OP - and everyone else who posted after him including me - was talking about bans, permanent suspensions.

You either don't know what these terms mean in the Twitter lingo or i don't get you.

Yes, that's a good idea, if you manage your accounts with a browser. I think most of us here have multiple accounts, even a couple hundred or more, so we use bots and most of those have cookie support.

I disagree about IPS which is used for following (posting). Because I had 4 accs on one ip and it is banned only 2-3 from that ip. I have also 40 accounts where I posted only my website so they survived that way. But other where banned, i used it for mylikes. Maybe problem with MyLikes? Twitter began hate MyLikes?
I lost old my accounts which had near 30K followers each account :-( So from 200 accounts I have only 83 alive :-(

Yes, that's what i said too, i'm not sure what you disagree with exactly. :)

The managing ips don't cause this for sure, because as you said and that's my experience too: with these purges Twitter doesn't ban every account, which belong to the same managing ip (proxy), so the issue is not managing ip related. However if you buy your accounts, you can never be sure how many accs were created from the same ip, you can never be sure about the quality of these ips/proxies and that's where the problem lies. The culprit is the creating ips. At least this is my theory. Given all the circumstances, i fail to see any other explanation for these seemingly random bans, which only affect a certain percentage of the accounts, sometimes less, sometimes more, but never all.

The account creation is a delicate matter just like on pretty much any other social media site. You can't use a lot of proxies for account creation, which are still good for account managing. The proxy rules for account managing are not as tight as for account creation.

MyLikes can be an issue too. I haven't used MyLikes or any MyLike-type sites in ages. I remember occasions when my accounts was banned because of these kind of urls. If you push it too hard, Twitter either ban you on their own or you can get reported too, which leads to the same ending.

But if you were affected by this most recent wave, MyLikes wasn't the issue now, because as you can see, many of us were affected and i'm pretty sure not many of us use MyLikes or at least i'm not for sure and i was affected too by this wave and the previous one and the one before that.

Or take a look at this post, it was posted just now: https://www.blackhatworld.com/seo/facebook-mass-ban-incoming.904366/#post-9603058. Does it sound familiar? Although it's about Facebook, but it's pretty much the same what we experience on Twitter. These social media sites use very similar tactics to catch us.

A few weeks ago i read an article on my native tongue, that certain social media sites started to co-operate more closely and share their databases with each other in the name of the fight against terror. I wouldn't be too surprised, if they were using these shared resources in the fight against spammers (us) too.

so its back again?
Are you asking that if everything is back to normal? Then the answer is yes. These purges only last a few hours, half a day at most. It doesn't matter what you do until it lasts though, if you do anything with your accounts or they are paused. Even if they're paused, they can get suspended, what you'll only notice when you try to login or when you try to do the first action e.g. follow someone. Idle accs are not safe from these purges. The next purge can be expected in 2-3 weeks time.

Interesting theory but I had few accs which I made manually more then year ago and they are banned. On the beginning they were different they post different pics and urls. I grew up it manually. And they are banned.
Also my 37 accs (which I bought from the same source that I bought banned accs) still alive but they doesnt post Mylikes.
Also Mylikes where posted only one time per day. All accs has the same options so has 37 alive accs.
