Twitter deleting followers glitch?

What I've noticed after account lock/unlock followers are starting to decrease in big amounts...

Example:

Acc. with 47.398 followers was locked for 6 hours. After unlocking there are 47.310 followers. 2 hours later - 47.304 followers...

Same happens to other accounts - up to HUNDREDS of deleted followers.

I've googled it - no answer... What to do???

Only on locked/unlocked accounts??? Doesn't make sense...

I think this could be bot accounts who no-longer see you as following them when you're locked so they unfollow you.

But why increased unfollowing rate after unlocking???

That happens, because when you your account gets locked/temp locked, all the unfollower programs show you as unfollowing so they unfollow you back.

Not really, I've checked with statusbrew.com - "fans" - you can see locked account profile and you'll not unfollow them because of several hours lock. I also checked new unfollowers - there are mostly accs. who unfollow everyone and not so many EGGs btw.

The problem is when account is already unlocked and you can see notifications that new people are following you but followers count is decreasing every hour which looks like automated deletion from twitter.

It shows you as unfollowed in Twitter's system for the time you are locked, unless you unlock right away. It then takes Twitter's servers a few hours or more to cycle you back into the system.

So an account with ~47k followers lose ~100 followers in 8 hours? It's not unprecedented. If you don't believe that Twitter simply suspends those accounts , what you can do is make a list of all the followers before an account lock, get locked and compare this list to the list of followers after the lock. See who's missing and see if they were suspended or no.

The explanation as to why is this happening all of a sudden after an account lock is that Twitter do the purges in batches, always did. While you "only" get locked, other accounts get suspended, hence you see your follower count going down after recovering from your account lock.
