Back in 2009 I used to do adult aff and used a chat bot to do it. I would just drive traffic to it by creating profiles on various dating sites, bla bla if you did it you know exactly what im talking about. The more I look at twitter, the more I see... this thing is like one gigantic chat. Global chat. Tweet attacks is the tool i got and it has that wait and reply feature. But is it a multi-tiered responding BEAST that can carry on a conversation up to 20 replies and drop a link after 5x responses and appear natural? Naw.

And I'm starting to think THAT IS WHY everyone's tw1tter accounts are getting banned, because if you are a twitter employee and see these series of one reply messages, it would probably seem obvious that you arent a real person. But... if you had a bot like the ones adult affs i saw had when i used to adult aff.. That conversation could go on and on for 6x 10x replies and appear natural as hell.

Thoughts? Ha ha i bet you are all going to your programmers right now to build one lol. If you do, pm me and lets jv this .

I had this idea for some time, but I was keeping it to me, cause I think it will really have a big (prolly bad) impact .
Since the cat is out of the bag, I add some stuff to your idea:
It doesn't need to be as comlicated as one think. The old program 'Eliza' was able to trick people just with a simple keyword based approach. You can find a basic (the programming language) listing for it online.
So if someone types: "What's the weather in Arizona?", a bot would react to "weather" and take a related and quite broad reply like "Weather? I'd like to see the sun again, I'm tied to my computer."
Eliza was also able to add "your", "mine" etc at the right place, when it repeated the question ("Are you dumb?" - "Why are you saying, I am dumb?").
With a nice database, this bot could really stand the challenge for a limited time (sooner a later it becomes obvious). But you only need 5 post or so, as you stated.
I firmly believe Zennoposter and maybe Ubot could do the trick, I use Zenno now for a week or so and it can really do a lot (and all at the same time, since you could start e.g. 40 instances listening to twitter).
It should be quite easy to add to tweet attacks as well, but building the database is the intense part I guess.
I bought tweet attacks as well, but the freedom with zenno is just great, I built my own Twitter account creator with profile pics, us-city location and hobby database.
Posting specific replies to tweets would fit well :)

You are absolutely right. ZennoPoster do the trick for you.

    Pretty awesome idea but:

    - unlike a chat bot, anyone looking at your profile can see your message history and will see all your spammy "conversations" you're having
    - huge numbers of @replies could still be problematic regardless of whether they've got links in them or not (I don't think anyone's ever tested); @replies is definitely something they monitor algorithmically (they said so in the Guardian).
    - dupe tweets are a big no-no, so spinning the tweets somehow is necessary... which is difficult if you want to keep it natural.

That's not to say it's not an idea worth trying. I have a fully modular Twitter bot in PHP but I've always been daunted by the work required to get the text generation seeming natural. Some of those chat bots you see around the place seem so insanely real.

everybody on this thread (lurkers too), go to youtube and search "Sharepr0 Twitter Bot - Live Demo - 500 Unique Visitors in 10 Minutes from Twitter" (wont let me post link). First result.

So, first off, let me say... NO WAY would I give up $1k for this LOL !!!

That said... isn't the sharepr0 bot doing exactly what Autumn warns?

I just watched that video and I don't see any evidence that he's using any kind of chatbot. If you look at the list of tweets he's posting at the beginning of the vid, he's just using a large number of spun tweets, and if he's using new accounts with no followers then he must be doing @reply spam and just burning through the accounts.

He's also fucked up by using the same bit.ly link across all his accounts, pretty unsophisticated. Also that vid was posted on Feb 20, almost two months ago - that's a lifetime in Twitter terms. There have been big changes to defeat @reply spam recently that are discussed elsewhere on the board.

I don't see anything special about that software at all, and it's insanely overpriced.
