Twitter changes... The good The bad, how will it effect us?

Twitter is make a lot of changes to the UI and their API, looks like its going to get harder to pull information and a lot of these programs we use will not work in a couple months.

What you think? Are they digging their own grave?

Typical! I just about finished my twitter bot and then they go and change everything.. fun times ahead!

Twitter sucks these days anyways, they killed the effectiveness of the realtime search which was one the appealing aspects of it (ie: Breaking news, they only show 'top tweets' scrolling down will become quickly irrelevant information. This used to be awesome, now it's irrelevant)

well we either can rant about it or we try to come up with something new. Its gonna take some thinking etc but ultimately one can always profit from twitter

I don't understand these posts. All social media platforms change the UI and fight hard against bots/spammers. How is this any different?

Certainly it will be a problem for those who several external tools to operate a twitter account but still it will not affect the twitter so much as the people who have already built their network strongly from several months and years, will not leave twitter so easily.

I've gained over 600k followers within the last 8 months from fiverr gigs and such. I've occasionally lost 10k here and there but recently within the last week i've lost over 200k followers.... i'm assuming Twitter is responsible for this? It looks like people are still able to deliver from what i can see but do they even stay followed now?
