Twitter Banning Alot?

Is it me or is Twitter on a banning spree lately? I created some accounts last night and half of them are already banned and I didn't even post affiliate links on them.

Is this happening to anyone else?

I've seen more bans lately. Seems like they are really cracking down on people that even look remotely like marketers. I've been letting accounts age. I just set up a profile pic and add some text to the about, make a couple of tweets and let it sit for a while.
 
yeah i was also banned for a week starting this very day.
and i don't know why because i've spam their mail :D
 
yes it's like twitter has become tough after the DDOS attacks..... I don't know ...what exactly happend with your account but this would help:

  • Don't try to follow a lot of people when your account is new they say no more than 50 follow the first day to twitter
  • Don't use automation with newly created accounts
  • Make the profile look like a real person
  • Do spend time tweeting until you get like 1000 followers
  • Don't unfollow a lot of people at once

I created a little over 500 accounts yesterday and like 110 were banned this afternoon all within about 10 minutes. I'm sure they're using some kind of algorithm, and the fact that I use massive collections of public proxies probably doesn't help. I've been following on the rest with multiple threads (keeping it under 500 follows per account/day), and everything is fine with the remaining accounts. If only their API wasn't as slow as it is...I could do 1 million follows per day and move to hawaii :).
 
I think that you must have created most of them with the same IP address.
This is one of the major causes of getting banned from twitter!

Nope...I wasn't "creating most of them from the same ip". That was what this thread was about - that twitter is getting more sophisticated in their banning. In fact, twitter won't even let you create more than 10 accounts from 1 IP address in a single hour. After that you get a message saying "you can't do that right now". But, I was using public proxies, so chances are others were doing the same, so it is likely that many accounts were created from those IP's...but not all mine. I was working from a fresh list of about 300 proxies. I run the proxies through a tester, then my program accesses twitter through the proxy and uses decaptcher (and when they're down/slow, prompts me) to solve the captchas.
 
I created 50 accounts last night, and after about 8-10 changed IPs. I had 1/3 of them banned by morning, no pics, no tweets, and get this, I even had my tweets protected! All of the bans were on 2 IPs. a few were because of the names (obvius ewhores) and the others got banned on the on IP across the board. It beginning to feel alot like DMOZ. lol
 
1. make sure your cookies are cleared ?
2. make sure the proxy actually changed your IP and that it is anonymous ?
 
I just got over 500 accounts banned.

I hate twitter..
 
I wonder why making thousands of accounts I think it's just useless you'd rather create a few accounts and go steep with them you know what mean ?

making big accounts is better than spamming with tiny accounts
 
Twitter has been cracking down on accounts lately due to the DDOS.

They are going after Developers who set up Mass auto follow programs, so that could be a reason you are being banned.

Normal Twitter users don't follow more than 50 (I would say even less) people a day.

I'm in the process of creating a Twitter Service, hopefully be ready by the end of the month and we will all be able to benefit from it.
