Twitter and Instagram single user

Just wondering, if anyone here is only growing a single instagram and twitter account and do you do it with a bot or can you manually get a better result with it?
Asking since I am launching an authority site with a few social media accounts and I plan to post manually on them every day, but what about following people to get more followers?
Really appreciate your guys opinions.
I understand there are a lot of bots out there, but most seem to be geared towards users who have a lot of different accounts going for them.

A subscription or my time investment wouldn't be an issue. Just trying to figure out which method would get me the best result and also minimize the risk of getting a ban.

I wouldnt recommend using bots. Wont help at all, on the contrary, it may lower your engagement

Thanks! What would you suggest as the approach to follow people. Should I do it just all in a row for 15 minutes per day or rather try to fade it throughout the entire day?

Doing it manually will eventually be tiring and time consuming. I will never go back to doing things manually specially now that I've tried growing accounts with a bot. Just my opinion though.

I guess it kinda makes sense, using a bot makes it way easier. But then again it will take away from the real feel.
I guess I could also just buy shouts instead of follow people at the beginning to grow it so all that would be left is to just tweet and interact with people.

That's not necessarily true. I bot the hell out of my account - but just the grunt work. The stuff that was taking me hours a day to do by hand. I still have a LOT of direct interaction with followers & friends. I feel very engaged (and I'm growing).
