I'm struggering to monitize my twitter traffic. I can generate about 5k visitors a day and I'm gaining about 4k followers a day but I drove them to Amazon and didn't make hardly anything, I've tried some rev share CPA and I'm making a profit but not enough to make it worth while really.

If anyone has any experience with AdSense + twitter could they share very roughly what they make per 1000 visitors? Its fairly targeted traffic. I know there are many variables but I just want to know if its worth my time putting a site together, populating it and applying to AdSense etc. I'm thinking of a gallery style site.

Any help at all would be greatly appreciated!

If you have legitimate followers, I would be interested in re-tweets from you.

In my experience twitter traffic works well with adsense. Normally they are not buyers with cash in hand, but do tend to click.

You have to work on a 5% CTR, with most adsense ads paying $0.10 - 0.20 per click. You can get higher paying clicks but that is very difficult when starting out.

Thanks for taking the time to respond, if I can get anywhere near those figures then it will be worth while for me! yay

Traffic conversions depend on niche, But most of the times twitter traffic sucks.

That's asking to get banned man. 5% CTR... lol.

Google knows the source of your traffic is Twitter, hence why you get crappy CPCs. But if CTR gets too high they tend to just ban social traffic only sites. Because honestly, mobile traffic through the in-app Twitter browser never converts for advertisers.

If you want to monetize with adsense, pick topics for galleries that will have higher CPCs, keep the CTR below 4%, and diversify your website's traffic. Try to rank for a few easy keywords, get some traffic from other social networking sites, etc.

Because if you just push a 5% CTR and all your traffic is from Twitter, you're just asking for trouble.

Traffic conversion depend on few facts such as if your niche is high CPC & traffic is really quality too, 2nd thing is ad placement, 3rd thing which now a days google is noticing mostly is site content itself that site worth quality of advertisers money or not. as if site is some wallpaper I will strongly suggest not to use adsense + twitter for it try for cpm.
basically, with adsense major factor is site + content + links & than source of traffic & Traffic quality. It's hard to give estimate earning idea. but Let say I have a site with pregnancy niche & site have around 11 Quality content pages but no links and most of traffic is from twitter & ads placement is Good (no page is made for adsense point of view but still ad placement on best conversion places) & i am getting 1000 visitors from which 180 click ads & per ad I will make 10 cents Only (not exactly but just example), than 180x10=18$ with CTR 1.8% only but it is least calculation, Normally, health niche cpc is 30 cents+ & with 6% CTR.

5% CTR never gonna happen!

OP also the earning depends of your niche and ad placement

MY CTR for the last 7 days from twitter traffic is 2.05%

5% CTR is easy, Twitter traffic is mobile and it is easy to make users think the arrows in ads are the arrows to go to the next page in a gallery or something. But obviously 5% is still a bad idea.

Twitter traffic converts on some ways comparing to stumble upon and reditt. Adsense might work, also test it with mobile so that ads should work properly.

Funny you say that because that was my plan. What is considered a safe CTR?

There is no problem with 5% CTR, I got more than 5% for months and it is safe.
for twitter traffic I think that it's hard to get them click on ads and they are mostly mobile devices, 1000 page views will make you between 5$ to 20$ I guess all depends on the CPC though!

As a general rule CPA is better for twitter. You select a niche or even target it further and then tweet about that topic. You know, kind of like blogging. Then when you get a good enough following and or trust you can begin directing them to offers related to your topic or niche. Some people have the idea the you can just spam links with twitter and get some medium quality traffic for adsense but it just don't work. Try spending a little more time creating content to tweet and do more direct marketing.

If most of your Twitter followers are from US, you can make ok money but dont expect a lot. You also need content that will actually draw users into reading it and maybe clicking around to other articles. I personally dont make that much money from Adsense and I use Twitter, FB and Google for my traffic. If I only had traffic from Twitter, I would probably make a few cents a day with about 400 visitors a day.

It's interesting how google encourage "blending" of ads but at the same time discourage webmasters tricking users into clicking links. I mean where is the line? If you do a gallary site and everyone thinks they're clicking to see the next image not your AdSense ad is that "blending" or a breach of the google TOS because its misleading the user?
