Hello,

I don't know if this is a correct place to post this, but I don't know what to do anymore...

Our company has a Twitter account. There is no illegal material and no adult material. We are a motorcycle dealership and the only thing we do with our account is tweet the promotions that we put on our website. We don't tweet that much, because our customers are mainly on Facebook, but still we have around 7000 followers on Twitter. Our account has been active without any problems since at least 8 years.

Now, the problem... Since around 3-4 weeks, when I log into the account, I get a message saying it is suspended. I suspect it is because I connected from another place than my usual place... However, there are no place where they ask me to verify anything. Just a message saying it is suspended without any reason given...

I tried to contact them twice using the "Appeal decision" function, and no one ever answered me. When I try to contact Twitter with "Message @TwitterSupport", I get "Internal server error".

This is really, really, really bad, I don't know what to do anymore. We are a legitimate retail store and we never posted any inappropriate content. We don't even answer any tweets from anyone, we just re-post our promotions, so there is no way that this is because of something bad we said...

Please help us!

EDIT: I just was able to start creating a message to send to @TwitterSupport, but I get an error message saying that our account is suspended and that we cannot do this action... And I thought Facebook had bad customer service... This is a whole new level...

usually u should wait around 2-3 days to get real respond from twitter

Have on account suspended too. The account has no tweets, so i didn't understand why they suspended it.
I've contacted them 6 days ago and still no response from them.

@wiseplay It's been around 2 weeks the first time I contacted them, and I tried again about 1 week ago!

''We don't even answer any tweets from anyone''

Nice company bro

we just re-post our promotions
This can be seen as spam, especially if you really just repost the same promotional tweets over and over and your timeline doesn't contain anything else. However a suspension for this would be a bit of a stretch, they usually just exclude your tweets from Twitter search for doing this, they might have strictened their rules.

Sorry guys, I can't quote, probably because I'm noob, so I'll just reply with your @Usernames

@LordCameltoe

I did not have 2-factor, but I doubt we were hacked. The password is pretty long and complicated, and I connect from safe places... But who knows...

@look_nohat and @HoNeYBiRD

Read the link, great content. Not sure if our content could have been considered as spam. When I say we re-post our promotions, I mean we never re-post the same promotion twice, but by your link, look_nohat, it seems to have a grey zone where something is considered spam or not. Our website is like a blog, where we create articles and promotions, and then I use the "Tweet" button on the website to tweet it... I usually don't write any text, because Twitter usually extracts the title of the post and the image from the website, and I thought it already looked alright like this, because all the information needed is there, and if they want more info, they can't click and land on our website.

Sometimes, we can have a maximum of 3 promotions coming up at the same time, and I usually tweet them at the same time... But, on the link you put, it was said at least that Twitter usually sends us a warning email before taking any action... Right now, they just suspended without any given reason.

@stelios0

Not sure if I expressed myself in the wrong way or if you misunderstood me, but I did not mean that we don't answer people. I meant that we don't take part actively into commenting and re-tweeting other people's tweets and stuff like that. Like I said, in our industry, Twitter is not the preferred communication way. We just don't receive any communications from our customers on Twitter. It's either phone, Facebook, emails or the forms on our website, plus we are quite active on Instagram. But still, years ago, one of our staff had just made a blitz to follow other accounts and to get ourselves some followers, plus there are probably the few customers who actually use it and subscribed as our followers... So, although we are not very active on Twitter, we still kept publishing our news and promotions out of respect for our followers and to not just have a dead account... If you think that we are not using Twitter in the correct way, as your comment implies, and that may actually be the case, given that we are not very active on this platform, please post some useful information, instead of just spaming some useless judgment.

Thanks everyone, and if you have any other stuff that could help, I will take anything!
