If you use automated software to follow people on Twitter you will get banned...Only if you have a seasoned account over 1 year old you might get away with it depending on twitters mood. You can safely on a fresh new account follow 450-500 people if its not adult related.Adult related 100 people a day. When creating a new account avoid alot @blabla in your first 2 weeks, you will get banned.A good practice to impliment is follow 100 people and 1 hour later unfollow everybody....Its not about making sales with a new twitter, isn't going to happen. Its about having something worth peoples time and getting popular....One of the biggies....And listen good.....IT ISN'T GOING TO HAPPEN OVERNIGHT.The top ten sites on twitter didn't get followed through searching Twitter.....They got popular through there personal site which there manager said twitter will be good for them...Unless you were lucky enough to hop on the Twitter train 2 years ago,you will get adult related material banned......Heres the secret though....Adult material isn't getting banned through twitters research...Adult material is getting deleted from the gurus who got the early start with multiple accounts and will snuff out the compitision...I know more but tired of typing....Hope this is helpful to some of you.

That's not true in the slightest.

How exactly does a social network have a "mood"?

What are these statistics based on?

Not true. I do this all the time and don't lose accounts.

That doesn't really give people an opportunity to follow back, does it?

Pretty much everything you said in your post is wildly incorrect except the word "later". Anyone who has spent any time using Twitter knows that bots can in fact be used effectively, and following 100 people and unfollowing an hour later will get you nowhere fast. I've also used @replies effectively on accounts just a few days old with no problems. This is more like Twitter .000101

You are full of shit......Only the people trying to sell people a service to follow people will put down my logic.....My logic is based on not paying for a service to get followers.....The services that sell followers do give you all the followers you want.....Unfortunately it is via dummy accounts made via outsourcing to whomever or running there own software to create multiple accounts and follow people charging them because the buyer doesn't know any better and is just happy to see followers on his/her account.

    Prove me wrong Twitter guru

Dude.......I can manually create one Twitter account per minute and do it 12 hours a day for 2 weeks....Don't need a valid email......Once i'm finished I advertise a follower service for cheap.I then use my imacro to follow everybody who purchased my service......Using all my accounts i made to follow.....Thats a easy way and i'm not a programmer......Think about what you could do if you had the knowlege to program.....Have all fake accounts you made follow each other and tweet.....Have them follow other people at a slow rate.Trust me,i know my shit.

    ummm.....
Not a twitter guru, but I have plenty of twitter accounts, I have used automated followers on every single one and I have never had a single account banned...

    question:
...why is that a good practice? I can't imagine what good that would do?! What do you get out of doing that?

Agent, can I call you agent?Fantastic....I've used the automated software too.....Phoenix,kharma a online version and plenty of other downloads which worked in the past.....Now that shit does not work unless you do what I mentioned above which carries no real weight so why bother filling somebody elses pockets with money?

Why do you follow 100 people and unfollow after one hour......Because you gain real followers not other advertisers. The real followers will stick with you.

It's always good to see new guys with 3 posts who joined BHW a week ago flame
guys with over 500 posts who have been around for years for not "knowing anything" :argue:

Just based on SPB7878's ability to form paragraphs in his posts alone I'd say he's probably more
knowledgable than you on this subject :)

    hmmm....

I haven't paid anything, there are enough free bots...
and the followers I get are good enough for my purposes, so I guess I don't have to worry what they are...

Sorry for being dense - but I still really don't get how "following 100 people and unfollow after one hour" will get me higher quality followers - I guess it will get you followers who are using auto-follow software but aren't using auto un-follow software? and that is good because it helps your ratio of following / followers? or because you think it means it's more likely they are not fake accounts?

and your follow "100, unfollow an hour later" only works on new accounts? or also works for older accounts?

I'm willing to test it and post my results...

Twitter is so random and there are so many people talking about anything and everything......How could you possibly follow any niche....And i'll say it again, all the popular Twitter accounts were created outside of Twitter via that persons website.

Fair enough here is my input:

Believe it or not you're wrong on almost all accounts, as previously mentioned.

    1) A bot to follow/unfollow will *not* get you banned if used correctly.

    2) A seasoned account over 1 year *will* still get banned if you abuse twitter's ratio's and raise too many
    automation flags.

    3) I've followed over 400-500 people on 2 day old accounts and had no problems.

    4) You suggested following 100 people and then unfollowing them 1 hour later. This actually *will* get you banned.

The #1 thing to avoid when using twitter and building followers is unfollowing tweeters who didn't follow you back,
while leaving "mutual followers". This will throw your following to follower ratio way out of whack and whether your
account is 1 day old or 1 year old you will risk suspension. I had a 2 year old account suspended for doing this.

Read Twitters terms of service dude......Thats why you can't unfollow on kharma no more and thats why if you use any automated bots you will get banned.....We can test this theory if you are game,i'll even create the account......Call my bullshit.

lol, the fastest way to a perma-ban would probably be posting it on this forum, + I'm not giving up my niches that easily

show me yours and I'll show you mine, :mischievo

"popular" is relative though - what do you consider popular?
I don't know if my sites are "popular" but like I said, they do well for my purposes, so I guess that they don't need to be popular...

well, I'm always up for a good test, create 2 accounts - one with your theory, one with prevailing wisdom?

Since when does a company divulge the true limits of their system in their terms of service? It's like google
telling people that buying links will get their site blacklisted when it never really happens in practice..

Use a bot that doesn't use the twitter API and mimicks the actions of a real user in a web browser and
whatever you do don't just unfollow people who never followed you, and you will be ok with a bot if you don't
get greedy and respect the limits.

And be kind and please use a period and space after a sentence, it's so much easier on the eyes :)

I didn't say your method didn't work, and I even said I was willing to test it, so ease up there...

83 followers makes your site "popular"?
Do your 83 followers convert well? if so, may we know for what type of promotion they are converting? Or what are you using your followers for?
