Twitch got hacked, leaked source codes and streamer income numbers

I am not into gaming but how do they earn....is it like youtube...but there are no ads. Is game streaming allowed on youtube? If yes then why didn't youtube become popular with game streaming like twitch? Can we stream mobile games? Is anyone who is on BHW using this platform and earning $$$...any journeys etc.

There are ads on Twitch once you become an Affiliate or Partner.

YouTube doesn't specialize in gaming or live streaming, that is why Twitch was able to take over in that department.

So, this is basically 2 years of income?

2019 - 2021, or not?

I mean, some big names and their incomes are... I must say just low as much as that sounds insane.

Lirik - $2.984.653.7
TimTheTatman - $3.290.133.32
Summit1g - $5.847.541.17
Shroud - $2.040.503.15

They are making a lot more, just from donations and subs on Twitch.

I might be wrong...
This seems to be ONLY Subscriptions revenue. Which anyone could figure out tbh just by looking at the subscribers amount of the streamer. This does not even include their twitch contract which is worth millions to stay on twitch and not go to youtube. Quite the irrelevant leak.

I'm curious how you guys think this hack happened? My guess would be dev got compromised.

Didn't see a thread on this yet, Happened yesterday. Torrent's online for anyone to grab (128gb)

It contains The entire twitch source code with all commit history and backups going all the way back to when twitch first started. All mobile, desktop and console source code apps, All sdk's and internal aws stuff (inc proprietary stuff). Curseforge and IGDB and other properties (source codes), some unreleased software for steam, from amazon game studios, and Twitch SOC internal red teaming tools.
Yo, you mind giving me the torrent magnrt

When you see their earnings you understand how much money can be made online, without hard work.
So many of them are not even real gamers, just reacting to YouTube videos and making millions.

Because people want to be entertained.
I'm having fun comparing two of my sites: one is on a very serious subject, which concerns the daily life and the future, the other on a much lighter subject (my topic "my new business"). The traffic is almost identical.
In reality, there is no secret: people want to be entertained. And it's profitable.

I wonder if any of the big streamers will take action and file a lawsuit against twitch for the leaks. I mean not just income leaks but also email leaks and other shit. Also golden kappa was never randomly given.

Dayum those are some slick numbers. Had no idea these folks made this much.

So that's 2 years worth of income?

I believe it is, but something is weird and it does not add up...

Streamers are making a lot more.

Let's take Shroud as an example:

Shroud on average has a minimum of 20.000 monthly subs [he has at least 10k or 20k more but let's just say he is on 20k].

Twitch Subscribers :

20.000 x $2.50 = $50.000 monthly x 12 months = $600.000 yearly x 5 years = $3.000.000 just from subs!

Donations :

I can only guess this number, let's just say it is close to $50.000/month from donations x 5 years - $3.000.000.

Subscribers + Donations = $6.000.000/5 years

He had a month with 101,588 subscribers, which is over $250.000 :D Just from subs, I'm not even adding T2 & T3...

Sponsors and everything else.

It's a lot of money anyway :)

EDIT: I can confirm now it is the total payout from August 2019 until October 2021.

Everyone is saying how much streamers are making but remember it's like being a musician, probably actually worse because anyone with a pc and internet can stream. There are millions of songs on the internet most never even get listened to. Only about the top 1% of musicians are making a living from it solely and only about the top 0.001% are making huge amounts of money.

I literally can't think of a more saturated niche than streaming games to try and make a living from.

No harm in doing it if you enjoy it and want to make an enjoyable $10 a month though :)

True, true...

2012/13 I followed MrBlack0ut81.

At that time, more people donated, maybe I'm wrong, but at least I have that impression.

Basically, he had a solid 3k to 5k a month, a good character, talented, and one day he just came and said, I’m going to have to leave all this and I have to find some real job.

Everyone was amazed, but he did it, I think he worked on a construction site in the US somewhere, I think he still does the same today.

So, I want to say that you are right, for some, $3.000 is more than enough, for others, especially if they have their families, children, they have to leave it all and start a new career.

There are many such cases, we won't see people talking about them so much because all the main news belongs to those who earn millions and everything revolves around them in all spheres...

So, it does not include sponsor deals and everything else, this is just what they are taking from Twitch --> their Bank.

I think it makes sense because it's not all in total since when they all started, it's only 2 years period.

How much is Lirik and shroud earning?
Shroud cashed out with Mixer MILLIONS and before that he earned so much on Twitch. I think now he earns peanuts compared to previous periods and he doesn't even care anymore.

Pardon me, I've found the file but I'm interested in the emails. Where on the files can I locate those? Can't download the whole stuff since I lack space on my SSD.
